There is a total of 11 LEGOLAND Parks in the world, with Malaysia being the first LEGOLAND in Asia. Built in 2012, there are 8 themed areas of attractions namely, The Beginning, LEGO Technic, LEGO City, LEGO Kingdoms, LEGO NINJAGO World, MINILAND, Imagination and Land of Adventure. The centerpiece of the park is MINILAND, where various Asian landmarks were built using Lego bricks.
Tips:
⬜️ LEGOLAND Malaysia is closed every Wednesday. Please avoid planning a trip on this day.
🟨 If you book your ticket in the official LEGOLAND website, you need to select the exact date of visit. However, there is currently a promotion, which you can convert your Theme Park day ticket to an annual pass at no additional fee. On the other hand, you get to enjoy a discounted rate if you book from its partner sites. It is an open ticket which means you can visit the park at any day within a 6-month period.
🟧 To avoid disappointment, check the ride maintenance dates in the LEGOLAND website. Some rides may also close without notice.
🟥 There are height, weight and even age restrictions for the rides. Do check out these details at their website.
🟩 The combo ticket and annual pass allow for multiple entries. On the other hand, a day ticket only allows one entry per day. This means there is no re-entry and your dining is confined within the theme park. Do note that food and drinks are not allowed to be brought in. Fortunately, the drinks are reasonably priced here. A bottle of drinking water costs RM2.50 while a soft drink costs RM4.
🟫 Among the restaurants in the park, I recommend dining at Market Restaurant. For lunch, I ordered a Combo Oven Roasted BBQ which includes an Oven Roasted BBQ Chicken with drink and ice cream. It costs RM42 nett, which I must say is value for money.
🟦 It is always helpful to look at a map of any theme park before heading there. Unfortunately, there is no mobile app available. So, please head to LEGOLAND website to download a copy of the map before your trip.
🟪 Recommended Rides:
The Great LEGO Race LEGO NINJAGO The Ride Lost Kingdom Adventure *Dino Island The Dragon Aquazone Wave Racers Boating School Observation Tower LEGOLAND Express
*You may get wet taking the Dino Island Ride. A poncho costs RM20 for purchase inside the theme park. Therefore, I recommend bringing your own poncho for this ride.
Recommended Theme Areas: LEGO City & MINILAND
Recommended 4D Show: LEGO City 4D - Officer In Pursuit
⬛️ If you are a traveller from Singapore and intend to travel by bus to LEGOLAND Malaysia, board bus service CW3 or CW4 at Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange. Upon arrival at 2nd Link CIQ, take CW7L bus service to reach your destination. The journey from 2nd Link CIQ to LEGOLAND takes 30 mins. The bus fare from Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange to LEGOLand Malaysia costs SGD5 per trip. Alternatively, you can consider taking a ride-hailing service from JB Sentral or City Square. I took a Grab which took 20 mins and costs RM35 on a...
Read moreWe went here over the weekdays- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Got offer 3 park tix equals annual pass hence we took the offer. Only had to pay annual pass for me and husband (costs RM678) as both our children are less than 3 years old (hence free entrance).
Parking- ample parking space. If u have annual pass- parking will be free, if not it’s rm10 per entry. From parking to theme park, walk is about 7-10 mins- very long road so make sure u take all your things with u from the car to the theme park! Also for those with small children/ baby, bring your stroller and baby carrier! It’s going to save you a lot of money and free of muscle pain!
Waiting time- Best to go over the weekdays (non school holidays) as there are much less crowd, so we waited for about less than 10 mins for each ride (even get to repeat entering fav rides)! There are occasional school children coming for school trips but since the park is very big, the crowd amount is negligible.
Food- suggest to come with a full stomach and can bring a big bottle of water. We can’t bring in outside food, and food sold inside are very expensive for mediocre taste (Per meal is RM40++). If still very hungry and have some more energy to walk extra, can exit the park and eat a B.I.G which is next to Sea Life- food there is good and value for money. Once finish eating, can enter back the park using your pass (last to enter the park before 5pm). Water can top up at baby changing room Coway dispenser for free (at imagination land only). Otherwise u need to buy mineral water inside there,
Rides- most rides are suitable for kids age 4-5 years and above as they are most likely able to enjoy/ understand all rides. Younger kids have either height restrictions/ need adult to accompany for most rides. However, they can still play at the playgrounds and build legos.
Waterpark- went here on Wednesday (when theme park is closed). we rented a gazebo for whole day only for rm128 (using anual pass) and enjoyed using it, whenever tired,,need a place to rest after playing at waterpark- it’s worth it if u have extra cash to spare.
Showtimes- keep track of showtimes and suggest to plan ahead which ride to play while waiting for showtimes. They are very punctual and all showtimes queueing start 15 mins prior. They won’t allow entry once show starts.
Amenities- washrooms are clean and smells good. There are surau area to pray. Baby room as I am aware we only saw once at imagination land- equipped with breastfeeding area, crib, family bathroom and Coway water dispenser.
Overall, great experience and annual pass is worth the pay especially if planning to come frequent.
Local tip- we didn’t take legoland hotel as it’s quite expensive even if offered package, we took nearby Airbnb which was 3 mins away from Legoland - suggest to do the same if...
