I visited with my children, my friend, and her children on 28.12.2022. I donât recommend going during school holidays and I only hope that someone who is in a position to improve things will read this comment and actually give two hoots, but this is rather wishful thinking.
We stood outside for more than half an hour to buy the tickets. The heat and sun exposure gave me a migraine for the rest of the day. IMPORTANT INFO: there is no ramp entrance at the place where you queue to buy tickets. Luckily, I was with a friend so she queued while I looked for a ramp entrance at the side of the building (there are no signs so happy hunting!) to bring in my child who was in a stroller.
After getting the tickets, my friend reunites with me at the ticket counter. We then need to go to the actual entrance (the underwater tunnel). This means that from the waiting area (where strollers go in), I then need to cut across a sea of people (whilst pushing a stroller) where there is no space, especially as the queue barriers are blocking the wayâŠ. I am sorry to the kid whose feet I ran over with my stroller.
After entering, we faced even more crowds so of course it is impossible to try all the activities. It is very easy to lose your children in here during a public holiday so I would recommend putting a tracker on them or not going there at all.
The only place to get food is a cafe next to the center. The condition of the eating area is a bit unhygienic and made me lose my appetite but kids were very hungry so we had no choice.
After eating, we saw a lady bringing her son to urinate just behind the cafe in a very public lawn area.
I rate 2 stars because the activities inside are quite fun despite my bad experience. That is why I strongly feel the science center could in fact raise their ticket prices and put that revenue into improving the facilities inside and outside, with maybe a few signboards like âno peeing on our lawnâ or âstroller entrance at the sideâ. Perhaps also invest in the manpower to help...
Read more3 year old son wanted to see dinosaurs. So we went on a weekday. Parking was full due to it being school holidays but many school trips and big groups of children visiting. Luckily an open car park was right across the road connected by shaded bridge. I think this would be the only good thing about the whole experience. Science displays are old and in desperate need of revamp and restoration. Too few displays available for the amount of people there. Maybe consider limiting the amount of visitors at a time so it can be more beneficial for the visitors time? Dinosaur encounter (2nd floor) started with a side track to an "AR" room which really is a small hall with screens that show yourself and some dinosaurs superimposed walking infront of you on screen. Quite pathetic to be honest. The main room with all the dinosaurs at first looked cool when entering but it immediately felt underwhelming when the animatronic dinos looked unimpressive, although its perfect for my son as he wa sscared silly from the display and noise. The hall of the dinosaurs isnt as big as i would expect it to be. Thankfully we got there before any of the school crowds arrived. Overall i would say if you really want to bring your child for a quick look at dinos then sure go right ahead. We were there less than an hour. Better of spending time at a supermarket. Entrance fee for 3 and below is free. Adult is RM15 for the area + Rm6 for...
Read moreMy recent visit to the National Science Centre was filled with interactive activities that captivated both myself and my son. Upon entering, we were greeted by a stunning large aquarium teeming with colorful fish, which left us amazed. The center boasts ample space for children to engage in play, providing a welcoming environment for families.
We were particularly excited to explore the dinosaurs exhibition, but were disappointed to learn that it had already closed. However, the range of other interactive activities more than made up for this setback.
One downside was the relatively small baby room/nursery area. During my visit, I encountered a male guard occupying the space, which was unexpected and slightly inconvenient. Additionally, other guards were frequently entering and exiting the area to access the water dispenser, detracting from the privacy and comfort of the space.
Furthermore, the absence of a café on-site was disappointing. While food trucks were available, they did not provide the level of comfort I desired for dining and relaxing with my baby.
Overall, despite these minor drawbacks, our experience at the National Science Centre was enjoyable and educational. I would recommend it to families seeking interactive learning experiences, although improvements in the nursery facilities and dining options could enhance the...
