Some recent improvements.
There is now a fly trap by fish (needs 5 more), the spices are now prepackaged so much cleaner. Website seems to have improved too. However there are still long queues at the checkout whilst staff stand around.
Original review so management can keep improving: (1) Dirty: There are flies everywhere, especially near the dried fish and fresh meat (see photo), serving spoons are disgusting (see photo), pasta has mold/bugs growing on it (see photo). (2) Poor management of staff: frequently not enough cashiers open. (The staff themselves are very nice, they are just not managed effectively). During Raya (Tue, 13.00) had only 3 tills open, with long queues of c7 trolleys per queue. Staff available, but no manager to deploy them. (3) Poor stock control, especially for fresh produce: frequently out of key items especially during holidays. Poor hygiene makes fresh food go bad quickly. (4) Poor IT/app/website: cannot set up delivery, address not recognised despite living less than 100m from the store (5) Self check out is set up wrong, you want me provide you with a receipt? I have never seen this elsewhere in the world. (6)Poor organisation. On one day, no card payment. Management didn't bother to tell people on entry, no signage, so I wasted 40mins shopping only to find out due to a notice above the tills that I can't pay. Read moreSince lotus replaced Tesco the shop has declined consistently and has become a low level supermarket as far as selection of products and service to customers are concerned:
Just a few examples:
There is no more decent coffee to be found and no more filters. Only low quality industrial brands. Before Tesco had even its own pure origins packs next to branded quality grounded beans
No more non halal section . No more bacon, sausages, ham,…and extremely limited beers and wine selection. Last week a few bottles of corona appeared on the shelves but there was no code bar for them at cashier . I gave up.
Today, I arrived at 10:30 am and only one cashier was opened and an issue lead to a super long queue . Nothing was done and no other cashier opened, after 15m waiting I just left my shopping basket , left and went to a proper supermarket (Jaya sunway) much better

Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Lotus, specifically at the meat weighing counter.
Today, while I was waiting in line to have my meat weighed, the staff clearly saw me waiting but completely ignored me. Instead, when someone cut in line, the staff served that person first and only weighed my items at the very end. This was very frustrating and unfair.
On top of that, this is not the first issue I’ve faced. Previously, I bought several items including chicken chop, but the staff labeled and charged it incorrectly. Since I purchased many things at once, I didn’t check every single label at the store. Only when I got home did I realize that the pricing was wrong — I ended up paying more than I should have.
This kind of poor service and repeated mistakes are unacceptable. I hope the management will look into this seriously and improve both staff attitude...
