As a middle-class consumer, I recently visited Lotus's Setia Tropika in Johor Bahru and was impressed with the store's offerings. The hypermarket is conveniently located, making it easy to access for shoppers in the area.
The store offers a wide variety of products, ranging from fresh produce to household items and electronics. The fresh produce section had a good selection of fruits and vegetables that were of good quality and reasonably priced. The store also had a great selection of meats and seafood, which were fresh and well-presented.
The prices of most products in the store were reasonable and competitive with other hypermarkets in the area. I found that the prices of some items were slightly higher than what I would expect to pay at other stores, but the quality of the products and the convenience of shopping at Lotus's Setia Tropika made up for this.
The staff at the store were friendly and helpful, and the store was well-organized, making it easy to navigate and find what I needed. The checkout process was efficient, and I didn't have to wait in line for too long.

Was informed by staff manning the entrance that I must wear a 3 ply surgical face mask underneath my fabric mask to enter.
I decided to just wear the 3 ply surgical mask instead of doubling up as it was so uncomfortable to breath.
I then spoke to the store manager to understand as to why this rule only apply to this store but not other Tesco branches. I even told the manager that when I called Tesco's HQ they told me that there was no directive to refuse entry to customers wearing reusable fabric face masks.
The reply I got was that it was only their recommendation for me to double up and was not in anyway meant to bar me from entry but that the next time I visit their store I should double mask or else I will not be allowed entry. What kind of explanation is this? 🙄
After saying that I would inform the papers about their current face mask ruling as it isn't known to me that any government body has stated that reusable fabric face masks are not allowed to be used. The manager then quickly called someone on the mobile and later said that it was alright to wear reusable fabric face masks and entry will not be prohibited to their store.
Doesn't Tesco stores sell reusable fabric face masks? If this is not allowed for entry then why sell...

And kalau kaunter mySARA tak boleh guna untuk orang biasa, cakap awal ii . Bila tanya pada cashier, cakap boleh scan untuk bayar tapi perli orang lepas tuu . Kalau tak boleh, bagitahu & saya boleh jee masukkan semula barang dalam cart, pergi ke kaunter lain . Saya beli & guna duit sendiri, bukan mintak barang free kat sini . Harap maklum .
pastu kat section potong ikan, staff tu pun biasa cakap dengan membentak kalau tanya/minta potongkan barang basah . dia penat & customers ramai . supposedly biasakan letaklah at least lagi sorang untuk masuk shift, biasa tengok dia sorang je kat situ .
dekat penimbang sayur pun ada yang jenis rude, that one indian woman staff . weekend, saya tak nampak queue line sebab ramai orang . memang salah saya & saya dah minta maaf, tapi tak perlu kot "kena queue lah, tak nampak ke . itu pun tak nampak" pastu sighed depan customers lain . boleh je skip barang saya & cakap, "kena beratur dulu" instead, that would be enough, i'd feel more appreciate .
dekat foodcourt, at the time card saya decline waktu tuu sebab boleh guna Maybank sahaja (i used others) & dekat section yang ada Nasi Ayam Penyet . Both staff showed reaction macam saya takde duit, sorang lagi tuu siap cakap kuat depan orang "you got no money, you got no money !" sambil gelak sinis . That's ain't funny sir, keluarkan cash besar, tahu pulak kau diam lepastu .
