Tribeca Mauritius’ MCine– Highly NOT recommended It’s about time malls in Mauritius start rethinking where their priorities — and budgets — truly lie. Instead of pouring resources into flashy launches and glossy advertising campaigns for substandard cinemas, maybe the focus should be on the actual infrastructure and quality of the experience being offered. The only reason I ended up at this cinema was because the film I wanted to watch was available exclusively here. Monopoly much? Certainly not out of choice — this brand has never been my first, or even second, option. For Rs 300 a ticket — which, in this economy, is no small amount — one would at least expect the basics of professionalism. Instead, what I experienced felt less like a professional cinema outing and more like an improvised setup with a giant projector and a poorly trained team running operations. I attended a film scheduled for 6:30 pm. By 6:28, the queue had stretched almost to Gravity Max because the usher (the staff member who checks tickets) was missing in action, allegedly verifying if the cinema was “ready.” Eventually, another staff member simply tore tickets and waved the crowd through, making the entire wait pointless. To make matters worse, the film began while the hall was still fully lit, people were still streaming in, and then — unbelievably — the movie was stopped and restarted 15 minutes later. A complete display of disorganization and amateurism. As for the cinema itself: the projection felt no different from watching on an oversized home setup, and the sound quality was so weak you could hear every side conversation and shuffle in the room. Hardly the immersive experience one pays for. Bottom line: The marketing hype and glossy image do not reflect the reality. Until the service, infrastructure, and staff training match the promises, this is nothing more than an overpriced, underwhelming cash-grab.

Visited it yesterday and totally loved this mall! It’s already the BEST in Mauritius, and it only 60% opened yet! Definitely it has a huge potential and the best shops and products options! My shopping was already successful! And it’s not even fully operating yet! I’m so looking forward to seeing all shops open asap! 🥰🥰 The supermarket is enormous and so neat! It’s virtually and literally pleasant to walk through! Many applauses to everyone working on it! The only significant disappointment was… the food court. Not only is it absolutely stuffy - it’s not possible to stay there even 5min, it smells so bad! - it is also incredibly useless! There is absolutely nothing healthy to eat!!! No single option for a salad or smoothie, or a healthy bowl 🍲😩 Thank God there is juice! Really guys please you need to think this over! The food court might be good for locals, but you do expect many Europeans visiting it too, don’t you? Pizza option is not bad, at least something, but it could be great to have something with greens 🥬 too. I was almost crying when o was not able to find a cafe, but thankfully it was on the second floor! 😍🥰 Reaaaaally great coffee!! It was delicious ☕️ And they offer beautiful cake options too. My bad I only have a few pictures.

Mauritius 🇲🇺 most modern and largest mall. The vision this country has is something to be in awe off. This mall fully depicts that vision. Ultra trendy with lots of entertainment, high end stores as well as one of the coolest food courts I’ve seen on my travels around the globe 🌎 Initial it was tricky to get here as a lot of the roads were under construction and Google maps wasn’t updated with these. Lots of parking space and there is under cover parking 🅿️ The mall is large and very spacious. Everything is really modern and new and it has two levels. Lots of international trendy retail stores and brands at not too bad prices. There’s a MASSIVE Winners supermarket, probably the flagship store of Mauritius. One can literally get lost in there 😅 There’s a Gravity entertainment centre as well. Also a cinema complex with all of the latest movies in French and English. The food court had a lot of Halaal eateries and there’s almost 40* food and beverage outlets here. There’s neon lit signage’s and it looks really cool! Well worth visiting if you are in the area. Parking is also free here and it’s actually quite easy to exit from here once you figured out coming here 😅

My initial impression of Tribeca Mall might be too early but my last visit left me feeling underwhelmed. While the mall offers the usual shopping options, a Winners store, and a food court, it fails to distinguish itself from other malls in MU. The lack of unique features or activities makes it feel like just another generic shopping destination.

I strongly urge the owners of Tribeca Mall to consider adding well-deserved activities to enhance the overall experience. Introducing attractions like IMAX theaters, indoor karting, indoor pools, gyms, a kiddiland, mini-golf, or paintball would greatly enrich the offerings and give visitors more reasons to spend time at the mall.

Additionally, the lack of seating, with only a few benches available, was particularly frustrating. For a mall that boasts its size, it was disheartening to find such inadequate seating arrangements. Comparatively, other malls like Bagatelle or La City Trianon offer more spacious and comfortable sitting areas, making Tribeca's shortcomings stand out.

Furthermore, the food court failed to live up to expectations. Its size was comparable to other malls, like Bagatelle or La City Trianon, rather than reflecting the grandeur and scale that one would anticipate from the largest mall in the Indian Ocean. The lack of variety and ambiance further contributed to the overall disappointment.

Given its claims as a prominent mall, Tribeca should strive to provide an exceptional experience for visitors. This includes ensuring ample seating options throughout the mall and revamping the food court to offer a wider selection of culinary delights.

It is my hope that the management of Tribeca Mall takes note of these concerns and takes steps to address these shortcomings. By enhancing seating arrangements and improving the food court experience, and providing unique activities, the mall has the potential to live up to its lofty claims and provide visitors with a more satisfying and...
