We always stop in Loreto, Baja California Sur 🇲🇽 as a stop to regroup. We take advantage of shopping at bigger grocery stores to stock our fridge, go to the banjercito to take out more pesos, and then head out to go find camping south of town. This time we ran into some issues with our bank card which extended our stay in town an extra night. We had the dogs with us on our errand day, and decided over two large margaritas that we should just stay in one of the hotels in town. We were right next to this inn all day while troubleshooting at the bank and decided to see if they allowed dogs and if they had a room available. Next thing you know we are wandering around this beautiful hotel. We loved staying at this hotel, and enjoyed being right on the town square! Posada de las Flores also has a spa and complimentary breakfast is included with your stay. If you are ever in Loreto, and you’re looking for a charming place to stay in the middle of the town square this is a great stop! Loreto is a popular tourist destination as it is a Pueblo Magico. A Pueblo Magico is a Mexican town granted Pueblo Magico status by the Mexican government for its “magical” qualities. This could be its beauty, historical importance, or its natural wonders. Loreto is a cruise ship stop and has a quaint downtown and Malecón to explore. There are great restaurants on almost every street you can wander down, and this is an easy place to find a great margarita. Loreto is also home to the oldest Mission on the Baja peninsula, and the Misión de Nuestra Señora de Loreto Conchó (Mission of Our Lady of Loreto) is just a short stroll down the road from Posada de las Flores! Tip: let the water run in the shower for a minute or two before you jump in! The water was COLD until it had a minute to run 🥶 . . . #loreto #loretomexico #bajacaliforniasur #bajacalifornia #baja #mexico #uniquehotels #uniquestays #travel #travelphotography

Very nice small museum next to the church in Loreto. They have several different rooms set up with displays and artifact describing events from the original Indians, the village life, the arrival of the missionaries and elements and facts from the original church - Most information is in Spanish but they do have several information cards also posted in English

While staying at Villa del Palmar we took a day trip to the town of Loreto and found this mission built in 1697! Beautiful inside and out and cool that it has stood this long.

Very nice museum right next to the mission. It includes maps, artifacts, paintings, etc. and the signs are in English and Spanish. It is not huge so one can see everything in as little as 20 minutes. In February 2023, the entry cost is 70 pesos ($3.86 US dollars). The museum is closed on Mondays and they close mid-day for siesta but reopen in...

Pretty easy denture and tour the mission. Cost of 70 pesos per person masks are required in February 2023. If you're there on the hour the clock strikes his bells and at noon it plays a recorded but very convincing longer rendition. The plaza around are beautiful and well kept. Lots of places...
