Over priced and over rated mediocre food. I guess it all depends on what you're used to. I like authentic Mexican food because of the antiquated and very flavorful recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next. Unfortunately, not all latin families were privy to those traditional methods of cooking using the right chilis, spices and herbs that give Mexican food that incredible flavor. This place unfortunately, does not make authentic Mex food.
The food I ate was very dry and very tasteless and, in addition, the customer service was despicable.
I ordered the shrimp ceviche and I also ordered 3 meat tacos - 2 chicken and 1 potato which were tasteless and very dry.
I paid my lunch tab of $21. I gave the waiter $101 so that he could bring me back $80. He brought me back $70! Good thing I caught it while he was at my table. I brought it to his attention and he became beet red, turned around and walked over to the Cashier to retrieve the additional $10. Apparently, they both became upset over my auditing moment, and had a bad attitude towards me for my remaining time there. Afterwards, I asked for another cup of coffee, the Waiter said "un momento" but never returned. I was one of 6 customers there - so it was not to busy.
I'm kind of left wondering why these people are in the Restaurant Industry if their only focus, evidently is to attempt to steal your cash and serve you non authentic, tasteless and dry food??
It was my first time ever visiting Loretto and as I was walking around I became hungry and that's when I stumbled upon Mi Ratero. Hope this experience...
Read moreI had the fish of the day cooked al ajillo and it was probably the best fish I've had in all of Baja. My wife had the combo platter and the steak was also some of the best she's had in Baja! Service was slow, plates not cleared from the table until we asked, but the waiters all were very kind, allowed us to swap out side dishes effortlessly and spoke both English and Spanish. The only reason for 4 stars was that there were about 20 flies non-stop attacking our table and made the meal stressful and the atmosphere unenjoyable. I'm not sure if it was because we were sat at a table close to the street or if something had previously been spilled next to the table but I felt like I was constantly fighting with them. Maybe baseball should have been my true calling because I hit maybe 2 out of every 3 I swatted. We didn't get to enjoy our cocktails because flies were too quick and landed inside and they ended up all over the tortillas no mater how aggressively we waved them away. Overall, would try this place again for the food but definitely ask to be sat in the middle of the room so the flies can be intercepted by others. We spent $1700 pesos total for 2 cocktails, 2 mains, 1...
Read moreHappened upon this outdoor gem on an adventure day in Loreto on February 14th! It was cool and windy and they had patio heaters and mexican Pancho's at every chair, but we didn't have a reso. Definitely needed a reso, but Edgar put us on his radar and found a table for the 4 of us. We had to wait about 10 minutes but it was worth the wait and we sipped margaritas while we waited.
They had a special sharing menu for V Day. We ordered one of each for the table to share. The food was amazing and large portions. The flank steak was tender and flavorful, the chicken enmoladas were off the charts delicious, probably the best mole I have ever had in Mexico, tortilla soup was spot on for flavour and texture but the best delight was the Chile relleno con camarones (stuffed Chile with shrimp), absolutely delicious. I can't boast enough about this place. We ended up going again the next night with 2 other friends.
The staff are all very pleasant. Edgar and Luis took very good care of us. Thank you. I'd love to get that mole recipe to try and recreate...
