Playa Arcangel — Attraction in Baja California

Do not stay here with kids! Unreasonable staff!

It’s a beautiful property and the units are clean and brand new. The staff here is outrageously restrictive and oppressive. The owner did not tell us that the resort banned beach access when we booked which was unfortunate. Since we can’t take our kids to the beach which is the main reason we paid this kind of rental price and the pool is ice cold because they don’t heat it we tried to use the jacuzzi. We were quiet and minding our own business when the staff told us to leave the common area. First the security lady said we were there too early, then they said there were too many chemicals in the water, then they said it isn’t safe for children to use a jacuzzi in mexico. Then she said that I must not understand what she’s saying even though I understand Spanish perfectly. She was on her radio with her boss and her boss was yelling at me through the radio so I told him that if he wants to talk to me he can come down to the spa. He came down there, had no explanation for these rules and did not care at all that we can enjoy an oceanfront property we paid $1000 to rent.

Others were using the beach So we decided to use it as well and then they called the police on us Even though we were not even on their property breaking any of the rules.

Then the unit owner started emailing us too about arrests on the beach which is not true. The security lady sat there on her chair in the shade watching us all morning to make sure we stayed in our unit and were not in the...

Beautiful unit. Large windows/doors with ocean views. Pool and Jacuzzis as well as outdoor grassy picnic areas and bathroom. It rained a lot and the unit flooded badly. Water came in under the front door. Flooded all of foyer, hallway to back bedrooms and bathroom and into kitchen as well. Very inconvenient without a mop bucket. Used all the towels in the unit to make a barrier and it still flooded badly. We ended up with no useful towels and everything wet. The there should be a drain at the bottom of the stairwell to the entry door and there should always be enough cleaning supplies including mop...

Excellent experience at this Airbnb. I have a terribly high standard for cleanliness, and this place was so clean I didn't have much to complain about at all. All of the floor is like a white marble, it was all so clean and shiny. I wish I could have stayed longer and wish I could give twice as many stars. I would love the opportunity to come back! If you are headed back across the border into the United States, I would just add to allow yourself plenty of time to wait in line at the border for upwards...
