I will not be going back; there are too many other skating rinks close by for me to waste my time here. They do not return your deposit of $100 for the blue whale pushers.
First, they don't tell you that you can only buy tickets at 3:00 at the latest. I went and asked when the public time closed. They told me at 4 pm. So I went back the next day at 3:15--my child is young and wouldn't last an hour. Of course, I couldn't buy tickets because no one was manning the ticket booth. The guard let me know that they end ticket sales at 3:00. Okay, fine.
Secondly, I went back again the next day before 3:00 and got in. However, as we are doing the whole process of putting on skates, the woman calls me over and gestures to my backpack that was sitting on the bench. She tells me I need to buy a locker to put my backpack in. I looked around at the about 15 other backpacks sitting rather haphazardly thrown in the open and taking up bench space with no owner standing by. I asked whose backpacks they were. She said they were members' and that I needed to buy a locker. I asked her why I couldn't simply leave my things; I had nothing of importance in the backpack. She insisted on buying a locker but I said again, "Porque tengo que pagar yo si ellos pueden dejar las mochilas por aqui y por alla?" Her boss came over and clarified for her that I don't HAVE to rent a locker, that I COULD rent one if I wanted. Of course, I didn't so we got a blue whale seat for my child and began. A passing annoyance but an annoyance nonetheless.
Thirdly, as we were leaving, I went to drop off the blue whale seat and then went to the window to give back my skates I'd rented as well as collect my $100 deposit I'd given for the blue whale seat. Without any greeting, the same young female worker told me that I had to go sit down to sake my skates off, that I couldn't take them off at the window. My child called my name as well and I walked to the bench area, took our skates off, and went to the window to turn back in the shoes. During this time, the woman did not mention the deposit AT ALL. I did everything correctly but because I was checking on my child and the woman distracted me without giving back my money, I left the place and didn't realize they had my deposit until we got home. I messaged their FB that night and still haven't gotten a response.
I went back the next day and asked the woman for my deposit back. She said I could not because they only give same-day refunds. I asked her if their cash register had been over by $100 last night when the did the cash drop. She said she didn't know. I asked her if the young worker reported the lack of deposit given back. She didn't know. I told her that either the woman pocketed it, or the business did. I asked her how much money they stole every year by simply distracting people and not giving the cash back IMMEDIATELY upon receiving the blue whale seats. She told me that it was my fault, that I should have gone to the last window to the left to retrieve the deposit, that although I did drop it off correctly, that I should have then gone to the left-most window. I asked her how I was to know this information and she just looked at me.
In the end, I received no return of my deposit. Don't go...
Read moreThis is by far the worst ice rink I’ve ever been to—and I’ve skated for over 20 years around the world. The staff are incredibly rude and entitled, and the pricing is absurd. They charge up to three to five times the regular rate if you want to do anything beyond casual skating—like spins or figure skating elements—which is completely unreasonable.
On top of that, a large portion of the rink is often taken over by hockey players or figure skaters in training, but unless you’re part of their inner circle or willing to pay exorbitant fees, you’re effectively excluded. It’s frustrating and unfair.
This rink is extremely overpriced, poorly managed, and hostile toward figure skaters who aren’t already part of their private programs. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are far better options in Mexico City where the atmosphere is more welcoming and the sport is actually accessible. Places like this only hold the sport back and make it harder for new...
