Amazing place for a day at the beach, a beach run, or just a stroll. A lot of bodysurfers in the afternoon. It has a very long strip of sand. Parking is super easy, there are free areas and a lot that charges $50 pesos. There are two lifeguard towers there too, one sound of the turtle release place and another one further south. This time we were there, there was an area on the sand full of water that made it easy for non experienced swimmers to also enjoy the water while we had high surf conditions (mar de fondo). The beach was very clean and it also had public restrooms by the parking lot. It wasn’t super crowded, but towards the afternoon more people did show up. There is also a turtle release location there. There are other beach clubs and restaurants in the area, so that’s also an option. I highly recommend this beach. If you’re trying to release the turtles, make sure to call them before. They have daily releases during the vacation periods but after it varies, so...

It is not so much turtle release as bird feeding time.

100% of the baby turtles released before the seabirds roosted were eaten by the birds, after roosting 100% survived! Tragic waste of baby turtles- staff need to be paid to work through to about 7pm so turtles release can come after sea birds roost . As it is they go through a pathetic ritual of throwing sand at the sea birds but that useless 2metres. They could use air horn to scare birds ? Or just wait 20/30 mins for sea birds to roost Lovely looong beach with wonderful walks and a long swim (but stay close to the shore) . Very friendly locals play football on beach and like to have a chat....

Love this beach so much!!!!

Canadians/Americans be conscious of the building that is attempting to be built right next door. (Oxean by Own Mexico 🤮)

They are trying to build a resort on the beach where the turtles lay the eggs, this will definitely ruin the habitat of wild cats, birds lizards and of course these beautiful turtles, that ONLY lay their eggs on this beach every 10 years.

Puerto does not have the infrastructure for resorts, there is not enough water for 80 new toilets on this beach.

If this resort is built, the turtles will most definitely be extinct soon. Please spread the word, STOP OXEAN FROM BEING BUILT! NO...

The beach itself is lovely and sandy but the highlight by far and away is going at 5pm and releasing baby turtles into the sea. You pay 100 pesos per turtle but this goes toward the conservation and is incredibly worth it. Once you release the turtles be on the look out for crabs and gulls as there is nothing more upsetting than seeing your turtle getting pulled into a crab hole or whisked away by a hungry gull!

Really beautiful beach, such a great scenery. Gets busy by sunset time, almost empty during midday. No shadow so bring umbrella. Difficult to enter the sea if you are not experienced because of big waves. At 5pm there is the turtle release by the organisation (didn't participate, felt really touristic and not that environmental friendly). Beautiful sunset.
