Came here twice. Not sure how to enter this beach but first time was directed to go thru a hotel's backyard, but after 5 minute walking down from the cliff a foreigner woman living there, turned me back rudely that this is a private area no trespassing and had to walk back up in the heat and make a big circle from Bacocho beach. Second time went through Bacocho beach right away, it is about a 10 minute walk, at the end thru big rocks which might be dangerous at high tide and slippery. Problem is beach is public but the area to approach it looks like is private so you have to take a too long walk to get here and then to get back again. It is nice and very small beach, same waves as in other places, difficult to swim in. There are shades but in the private area, same woman came to us the second time, telling us this is private...so not sure what to say about how this beach works. Before you get to it from Bacocho though there is a big beach with nice restaurant and breathtaking surrounding with beautifully organized palm trees. Maybe it is better to book at one of these hotels on the cliff if you want to come to this beach. Definitely there are not so many people here and from the cliff you have amazing view. Also the hotel on the beach has a nice backyard and a whole little playtown built for kids to...
Read moreSo I have not been to this beach but I did spend 45 minutes reading reviews so here’s a quick summary
We need to start with the burgers, they’re mandatory apparently and not good. Beers burgers is the consensus of the group
Your feet will be viciously attacked by the rocks - everyone was adamant about that fact so I think we can lock it in
As for the actual beach it seems nice and there are no businesses which is good as it leads into the final debate, which is more of a discussion around the commons, and a stance against privatization. The beach is being held captive by a hotel which seems to be mismanaging a burger supply-chain issue and people are not down. If you can avoid the hotel maybe this...
Read moreI quite liked visit to this beach through Villa Mexicana. You pay 80$ but there is a Hamburger and water included (or a beer) and you can use swimming pool close to the beach. Fair. Toilets are also included and it is an adventure to go inside. They could invest few $ and just make them usable so everyone would be happy. The hotel facilities next to the beach are run down but it is also what makes them special and unique to visit. The beach itself isn't good for swimming and waves are huge, but is it almost empty. The best feeling among all I visited in Puerto Escondido. There is an easy access to nearby beach through a pathway set...
