Riviera Nayarit — Attraction in San Francisco

2 stars because it’s beautiful, but my father drowned here on this beach this week.

He was a good and knowledgeable swimmer. He knew about rips and undertows. He knew how to get out of them.

7 people drowned on this beach in 2024. I believe my father was the second victim so far in 2025, and it’s only February.

I can’t confirm this but supposedly there had been warning signs put up on multiple occasions but local business owners vandalized them and took them down. Serial drownings are bad for business.

Casual swimmers please do not enter.

Pricey but all of SP is, for what it is. Can't really see I'm too much undertow and short waves for surfing which you can on some parts of the beach mostly left of the main entrance(tercera mundo). Beautiful beach overall especially over Sayulita. Cool little town and local surf spots...
