This is an incredible hidden jewel in the deepness of Andalucía. Once a pier to trade material from the mines that surrounds it, today has become an icon of the city, a place to let your stress fly away while enjoying unbelievably beautiful sunsets. Get there close to nightfall and allow yourself to be emotional as the sun comes down. The stairs to go up to the first level are in very good condition but they are steep. Going up is easy but vertigo can be triggered on the way down. The stairs to the second level are way easier. TIP: go straight to the top level and walk along the pier until the end, the circuit that it has will conduct you down until the first level plus you’ll enjoy the views.

Acceso gratuito. Totalmente recomendable!

It’s a perfect place to run, take a walk, sit, picnic, and even fishing. Of course it’s a landmark to visit too. There is a beautiful walking trail and a separate bike lane by the shore that goes a long way along with open gyms at a couple of places. There is also a play ground with slides and swings. I enjoy walking and jogging by the trails and watching the sunset from the dock.

Very romantic at sunset and a favourite spot for locals to stroll. The history of the Río Tinto Mining Company exploiting the natural resources of Spain is an interesting one. It was a good idea to preserve this fine example of the architecture and technology of the industrial revolution. If you time your visit well, you should stroll up and down the pier and then, as the sun is setting, leave the pier and go the promenade to get the full effect of the setting sun through the metal work...
