A cultural jewel in Curaçao 🇨🇼, an absolutely beautiful quaint local haven with interesting and enlightening history. I will treasure my memories of a friendly and welcoming staff speaking their beautiful language. There were pieces of jewelry, art and items for sale with both local artists and a African artist. The archives were interesting and developing according to the curator. Historical wells, and water systems were throughout. The catholic house of thorns was creative and no doubt eclectic. This maze constructed with a facade of thorns, housing several pieces of art. Enjoyed the displays. Read moreIt's been raining a bunch in Bonaire the last week or so, so we were looking for something a little less outdoorsy. We came across Bloemhof as an option and we were really pleasantly surprised. There is so much art everywhere here, including the amazing Cathedral of Thorns, which is not to be missed on a trip to Curacao. There was a temporary exhibition going on when we arrived, and the artist was there at the time, and he gave us a full walk through of all his pieces. Pretty amazing. The tour was about two hours in length, with a refreshing pause in between with delicious lemonade.
The cathedral of thorns is majestic and no photos can do it justice! Worth a visit, definitely one of the highlights of our stay on Curaçao.
