Historic and iconic landmark in the city centre of Heerlen. Designed by the architect Peutz, it initially housed the Schunck departement store with Mr. Schunck himself taking up residence on the top floor, together with his family. Nowadays, it's home to the public library as well as several other businesses, including an art nouveau cinema, a coffee shop and a restaurant on the top floor - where the Schunck family used to live (note: it's definitely worth checking out, if only for the rooftop terrace!). Schunck also hosts a number of cultural events, such as lectures on the ground floor, various high-end art exhibitions (for example, there's an Andy Warhol exhibit) and musical performances. Read moreI won a giveaway on their instagram giving me 2 free tickets for the keith haring expo and a free lunch at bagels and beans. For me it was a 3 hour trip to get there. But when i got there it was more than worth it! The staff was so sweet and asked me if i was haveing a good time. This museum is so unique in its looks and they really did an amazing job in telling keith harings story! Can't wait to visit it...
