Exceptional museum documenting the everyday life of the residents of this working class area of Utrecht in the early 20th century. The volunteers staffing the museum were so friendly, helpful and passionate and the audio/visual presentation was easy to use and provided an expertly and lovingly curated documentation of this lovely city’s past. Highly recommended if you are interested in history...

It was interesting. I liked the storytelling by the virtual family and the amazing experiences for my son: using the weights and practicing penmanship in class at the desk through the app. The idea to experience the smells of that time was great! I realized that nowadays smells are better than those from the old times. The staff was really friendly. This museum is a very soulful...

The entrance fee is slightly pricey compared to other museums in Europe, but given the circumstances it's worth a visit if you're in the area. I went with my mom and my daughter, 3 generations! It was lovely to see my mom recognizing everything from her youth, me remembering some things and my daughter to be surprised by how it all went in the past. My mom’s house could be a museum as well actually, because she as well collected many things from the past, so it also felt like home!
