The park is nice for young children, with a focus on the popular fairytales and some water fountains and a merry-go-round.
However, it seems to not have been maintained properly for the past decade. From the decaying concrete walking path to worn out cars in the merry-go-round (deflated tires, holes in the bottom, missing steering wheels, stripped paint), to a broken down water spouting frog and air castle. There is a lot of weeds where you would expect grass or plants.
On the positive side, the entrance building seems new and I saw some new decorative boards still in plastic. And the (few) personnel is very friendly and helpful.
Final note, the last few kilometers of the road to and from the park is more suited for a bike path, only wide enough for one car so if you run into traffic going the other way you have a problem.
Oh and parking costs 5 euros.
Still, with young kids you can spend a few hours having fun, even if the entrance fee is too steep for what the park (in its current state)...
Read moreWe used this as a pitstop for our 2 year old from Netherlands to Germany. It was nicely positioned in the middle of our trip.
The park is a mix of fairy tale exebition attractions and fiar attractions. The price was cheap and the employees were approachable and kind.
There are a mix of reviews about the park being outdated and behind on maintenance. While you see this at some of the fairytale exebitons, you also see others that have been recently touched up and renewed. It didn't bother us at all.
We also ate here for lunch and while the menu is simple it was well prepared and timely delivered.
We bought our tickets online which was quick and easy.
Special attention is required at the moment for parking be sure to park at 'Geulpark Valkenburg' from there it's a 7 minute walk up a small hill to the park entrance. This is paid parking where we spend about 5 euro for a 3...
Read moreCute park for the smaller children. Put Heunsbergerweg 9 in your navigation for better parking. Park is a bit outdated but it looks like they're working on upgrading. The height restrictions are a bit dubious at some rides but as a parent you know best what your kid can do. The walk is a bit steep at times but not a problem for my toddlers, a stroller probably won't be a problem either, saw many people with a stroller all throughout the park The people are super friendly and kids can play in a big playground too. The only downside to me is the outdated part but in all honesty, you can go to Efteling for better updated stuff but you'll pay top dollar for it and your toddler will probably like this Fairytale...
