I’m in half minds about reporting this establishment to WorkSafeNZ. For the owners reference, we attended the 5-6pm session on Saturday 11th January 2020.
And now for the equipment. The BIG reason why I am thinking of reporting to WorkSafe.
The “Olympic” trampoline. This is one stitch away from having someone’s foot go through the trampoline bed. The tramp bed has had so many budget repairs that the bed does not even bounce correctly as they have used a non stretch material to fix the holes. There are many many frayed seams coming apart all over the bed. This this undoubtedly the WORST condition I have even seen a trampoline bed and should have been replaced a long while ago. Second point for the “Olympic” trampoline, while the bed, originally, may have been to the standard of the Olympics, it is not now. Not even close. The springs used are NOT Olympic trampolines springs and do not give half the bounce and kickback that a REAL one does. And my friend and I know what a real one looks and feels like. We are gymnastics coaches at a gym where we have some of the clubs top trampolinists competing overseas and representing New Zealand.
The parkour ninja course is a joke. Seriously. What are you doing? There is a massive amount of fraying into the slack line at the end where it connecting to the wall, at least 1cm into the maybe 5cm width of the entire slack line. Also needed replacing a long time ago. The hanging equipment is the stuff you can buy at Bunnings for at home jungle gym use. We have them at our gymnastics gym and we only allow under 5’s to use them as they have a max weight recommendation of 50kgs... and you’re allowing adults... okay. Second of all, the way they are “rigged” is by being looped over a metal chain, not stable, and our best bet is that they’re also not approved for weight bearing rigging. -(My mate also works for a wholesale industry seller so knows a fair bit about this stuff). The ninja wall thing that you’re supposed to monkey climb through is gib or something similar. And while looks decently thick, is really not the greatest choice considering the forces you have being exerted on it from adults.
The basket ball hoop back frame sits over the top of a trampoline either side. It wouldn’t take much for someone to bounce and hit their head on the side of the corner of the frame and cause injury. This also means balls go flying around the main area under peoples feet while they’re bouncing.
The “padding” on the wooden box tops is uneven and barely there. We jumped up expecting to have some cushioning and were met with wood under one foot and thin foam underneath.
Please, dont go here. For the same...
Read moreWent during the winter school holidays, knowing it would be a bit busier than usual, but the crowds were next level ridiculous!
Arrived at 10:30 with three 12 y/o boys and they had a great time for half an hour. Then the holiday programs turned up... it was honestly a zoo. The number of kids on the trampolines was unsafe. No one could have done any flips or anything because you could barely move without bumping into someone else.
Within 5 minutes of the holiday program arriving, my three boys had all come off the trampolines and asked to go home. They just weren't having fun anymore. We left 20 minutes early from the session, very disappointing that we spent $57, just to leave halfway through.
I was going to say something to the staff because I thought they couldn't possibly let that many on in one session, but then I looked at the website and they actually allow 120 people in every half an hour. THATS A POSSIBILITY OF 240 PEOPLE AT ONCE. How is that safe or enjoyable for your customers??? I understand, considering Covid, you probably thrive during the school holidays and want to get as many as you can through the door. But this recent experience has made my boys not want to return.
Final issue, the staff. The ones on the trampolines look like they're having a lovely time, chatting away in a group. There were 3 of them and they didn't move from their one spot the whole time we were there. They never interacted with any of the kids. They sometimes even had their back turned to the crowds. I thought they were meant to be there for safety, but honestly they were a hazzard because they got in the way and weren't...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting a local trampoline park and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. The park was filled with a variety of trampolines, each offering a unique and exhilarating experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere that instantly lifted my spirits.
The highlight of my visit, however, was meeting Harry, our trampoline instructor. Harry was not just an instructor, but a mentor who made the whole experience even more enjoyable. His passion for trampolining was infectious and his teaching style was both fun and effective. He took the time to explain each move in detail, ensuring that we were comfortable and safe at all times.
Harry’s amazing teaching skills made learning new tricks a breeze. He was patient, encouraging, and always ready with a smile or a word of encouragement. His enthusiasm for the sport was evident in every instruction he gave and it made the learning process so much more enjoyable.
The trampoline park itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a great layout that catered to both beginners and advanced jumpers. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience.
In conclusion, my visit to the trampoline park was an absolute blast. It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and learning. I would highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a fun and active way to spend their day. And if you do visit, make sure to ask for Harry - you won’t be...
