Misinformed.. really the information at the time was from your direct websites.
I Understand Uber that's fine. Now the other problems. The customer service and the difference in price from phone to your online order cost
Yes to the RUDE laddie, correct me if I am wrong but if you look at other reviews the same problem happens more than once. With COVID money is hard on everybody. Everyone's trying to save where they can if they can while supporting local small business. Reason for the phone call as new customer to support local business.
"at that time" no phone orders so customers must pay more now for the service?
"order online busy bye" is what "The Chosen Bun" shows as good customer service? Really?
Just follow up as you stated "regulars know that we go out of our way to fix a problem for them" so as a new customer I have to deal with below average service until I become a "regular" where you will go out of your way to fix a problem. Interesting...
Here is the opportunity to fix it
1 Star WILL stay!
Would not recommend this place!
Correct me if I am wrong so your other alternative is to order online? Fun fact - the price for example The burger "Hot Chick" is $15 if I was to call to $17 on your online site and then there is Uber eats at $21. Pretty simple really you said right? Can you see why some people would prefer to call. Pictures there as facts
Food for thought-if your online orders are busy to let the RUDE lady over the phone advise its busy and the next available time would be in an hour or two? It's better than "order online busy bye" To your quote "it's pretty simple really" isn't it?
My star won't change
Made a phone order over the phone the night before with no problem. Did the same thing the following night and to my surprise I was told they don't do phone orders. You do...
Read moreAlways a good shout. A popular choice among my friends and I. A sunday afternoon often ends with "Chosen Bun?". It is reasonably priced around $11 - $14 for a burger (a good size and quality might I say).
Aesthetic: The place is super cute, in the fact it is quite a small venue - but it works! It's a subtle blend of American Diner and generic modern restaurant.
Food: Super yummy!! I usually go for the Hot Chick burger but when I decide to push the boat out and try other burgers, they never let me down. For example I thought I'd try the 'Chosen Bun' and although it was the most basic one on the menu. It was sooo good with fillings and size and meat quality. Don't even get me started on the Kumara fries. The normal ones are good but the kumara fries are just incredible here. They're warm, soft but have enough crunch. The milkshakes are fantastic too. I recommend the Chocolate Fish one.
Staff: Everytime I come, I am greeted by smiley staff who are quick to ask if I want water etc and even if there is a queue they won't rush you or seem agitated at all. For example, my friends and I were told it would be a 10min wait for our food but were offered some water and a table to chill at.
Conclusion: Awesome clean look Amazing...

I’ve been a regular here for years, but the staff’s behavior lately has made it impossible to support this place anymore. On Wednesday, August 20th, I called just before their scheduled reopening at 4:30 PM — as I’ve done many times before. Usually, they take the call, prep the food, and it’s ready by the time I arrive. Simple.
This time, someone picked up, said nothing, and left the phone sitting on the counter. I could clearly hear staff talking and joking among themselves while I sat there repeatedly saying “hello?” like an idiot and being ignored. After a while, I hung up and tried again right away — only to find the line was now “busy.” It stayed that way for the next hour, meaning they’d likely just taken the phone off the hook to avoid doing any work before opening. Online ordering wasn’t working either — so I had no way to place an order. At that point, I gave up.
The burgers used to be really tasty years ago-now they’re okayish and good some days. If the food isn’t backed by reliable service,...
