I have never had a problem at this cityfitness branch, infact the service i usually receive is beyond outstanding, the trainers and receptionists always so helpful and friendly! on 19/9/21 at 7:24am i made a call to Burnside City Fitness, schelduling a 4:00pm slot for later that day as i was unable to book via the City Fitness app. The woman on the phone was extremely understanding and said i could recieve help with my app when i arrived later that day. Apon arrival i was greeted rudely by an elderly woman with a blonde bob who snapped "come back at 4:15" before i even had the chance to say anything (over the phone i was never told to arrive at 4:15 instead of 4:00). luckily, the second receptionist was lovely and helped me out with my app issues. I then returned at 4:15 to start my workout and the same old woman got extremely hostile and insisted that i hadnt made a booking over the phone because she was "taking phone calls all day" and rudely accused me of calling a different city fitness. When my boyfriend asked if she wanted to see my phone log for proof of call she got extremely defensive and told us that we were going "too far". This was very disappointing as ive only been treated respectfully by staff. not long after, my friend also arrived at the gym and experienced the...
Read moreFar too busy at after work hours to get a well paced workout in. Even early morning can be too busy as the most commonly used equipment is taken up with queues commonly there. Only two cable setups so max 4 people at a time can do exercises at once same with squat racks and legpress. And it doesnt help that it's usually surrounded by a group of teenagers standing around doing a set each every 10 minutes. I've done entire workouts and groups will still be on the same bit of equipment. Some of the more experienced members also have a bad habit of leaving their stuff laying around and hogging equipment too. Suppose you can't really do anything if the gym is going to keep selling cheap memberships despite an extreme lack of equipment around. Staff are friendly enough but just seem to be the equivalent of a fitness McDonald's worker, so no fault to them, I guess they can't really do anything to help the gym be better. Stick to smaller independent gyms, also be careful because the cheapest membership locks you in a...
Read moreGreat place, clean and tidy but not very nice staff. I joined 2 weeks ago as my friend goes here so i joined in with her workouts and she guides me to make sure i use the machines correctly and perform workouts correctly as its the first time i have ever been to a gym and i do not want to injure myself but Tonight she was unable to work out as normal due to illness so she just did a light workout while helping me make sure i was doing things correctly as i am still waiting to hear about my free orientation. While working out, two female staff that were on tonight kept steering at us which made me feel rather self conscious and uncomfortable but then they both approach us later in the night to warn my friend she would loose her membership as she was coaching me and came across very argumentative and threatening. I am enjoying my experience with city fitness but really disappointed in the staffs attitude...
