I enjoy shopping at new world and I consider it to be my local grocery store. However my only concern would be about the staff operators who work the front line of cashiers and the person who oversees the self checkouts. I understand some people aren't in the mood when working but I believe it's not very hard to serve customers with kindness. Whether they are scanning customers shopping or helping them when they need assistance at the self checkouts. I only witnessed a few front line staff members who behaved in a moody matter when asked for help because it seem to interfere with their gossip chit chat. In my opinion just keep it to yourself and keep it professional when in front of customers, I mean surely they can wait and speak about it on their lunch break. However I did think it may be a one off but after shopping here often I have observed the same behaviour from the same few staff members. I found staff who work at the cafe and deli section as well as staff who restock shelves are more welcoming and friendly and are a lot easier to approach if you need assistance or help. Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsually a good experience at WNW but that came to a complete halt this morning. Going around the supermarket was great relaxed shopping friendly staff. Then I got to the check out. The check out person and another co worker for some reason didnāt notice me so they kept on with their personal conversation between each other. I tried scanning my club card which didnāt work so I passed my card for the check out person for her to do after which she decided it was a good idea to chuck it on the other side of the counter away from me. After payment went through I mentioned to the check out person maybe next time she could pass the card to the paying customer instead of chucking it. The reply was a smirk and a sarcastic have a nice day. Please please train your young staff how to acknowledge and how to treat the paying customers. I realise some are untrainable and donāt have the best attitudes but if they decide this is how they choose to do their job they certainly need to be made aware that WNW need their staff to be more professional. Itās a shame this happened today it brings down the tone of the supermarket in saying that I wonāt let a couple of immature staff members stop me from shopping there....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI havnt had a bad experience with new world itself however I have with a particular checkout operator. There is a girl who is often on the self checkout. Every time she is there, she makes me feel totally uncomfortable. I can feel her watching me, I understand that they have to do that but not to the point where it makes me feel uncomfortable. The scowl she always has on her face when she looks at me/us is not nice. Its like she thinks im a scumbag. She screws her nose up and acts like she thinks she is superior to everyone else. I have also had to talk to her at times, and her demeanour is not very nice. I am always polite to her and I always use my manners. I know that its not just her regular look as ive seen her laugh and smile at others so shes obviously got an issue with me/us. I work in customer service and would never treat a customer in the manner that she treats me/us. Shes just a checkout chick, not a high class lawyer or someone like that (not to say that anyone is better than anyone else). I dont usually let others views or opinions get to me as its none of my business what others think of me, especially strangers, but im just completely over the way she treats me/us. ...
