I'm a regular shopper at paknsave hornby. I've never had an issues with the customer service I receive, most staff are friendly and very accommodating. Today i was served by an extremely rude checkout operater. She did not at all greet me, she did not once smile or make eye contact with me. I watched her throw my groceries in the trolley with no consideration. At the end of the transaction I told her that she needs to work on her customer service skills. To which she rudely responded "excuse me what's wrong with my service" ... Fair question when your being put on the spot like that so I gave her some feedback. I told her that she didn't greet me to which she responded "no but I smiled" ... Actually no you didn't, that's definately something I would've picked up on because at first I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I then spoke to the young supervisor who basically just laughed me off and didn't seem at all interested. Upon reflection I could've handled it better however I came in early on a Saturday morning (8:30am) ... I atleast expect to be greeted with a "hello how are you" ... I don't expect a full on conversation but this kind of service sets up my day. And I left feeling very embarrassed that I was forced to speak up and that my concerns were laughed at and not followed up. I was once a young checkout girl and if I ever treated customers like that I would've had a very stern talking to from my manager. I will be back this is my local and I won't let one negative experience ruin it for the ones that are very delightful. I think you just need to be very vigilant with your staff. If they are having a bad day don't put them in a position where they are forced to put a smile on their face. Could definitely tell she did not want...
Read moreI used to love this shop until about 6 months ago maybe a little longer when the support centre obviously got involved and decided to make changes that DO NOT have an overall positive impact on customer experience. They are out of touch with the consumer. The latest changes at the Deli are the worst possible thing they could have done. I will not be buying any of their pre-packed cold meat that is on display. The fresh deli was what made Pak 'n Save. The staff there were friendly, they added positively to the shopping experience, and customers got what they wanted. The new layout is terrible and you have taken away customer autonomy to choose quantities for themselves. This decision has also meant that staff have lost their jobs so that the support centre decision makers can get bonuses worth more than a staff members yearly wage! You have made changes without valuing staff or customers. Then there is the bakery - well it is absolutely pathetic at the moment - the choice is miserable and if you do away with the bakery you are fools that deserve what is coming. You have not considered the heart of your business which should be your staff and the customers. These are the types of decisions that occur when management is out of touch with what is happening in the heart of the business. My last few visits to this store have meant less sales for Pak n Save because I have not been able to get what I wanted at the bakery or the deli. I may be one customer ....but not everyone will write a google review - I know for a FACT that there are other customers who are not happy but who have not...
Read moreOn Friday 3rd.April.2020 at approx 2 pm I decided to enter your shop to purchase my groceries. There was a line of 5 people waiting to enter the shop & get their newly sanitized trolley. My phone rang , & because I had a face mask on, plus gloves , I told the person I would phone them back. I was then told to step forward & enter the shop , Only to be yelled at by a security guard "LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS . YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE LINE." I had moved a meter from some yellow dots & headed towards the awaiting tolley. I told the Security Guard that he needed to " Calm down " & he screamed at me "To Follow the rules". I again told him to "Calm Down "& his reply was "If you don't like it , you don't have to shop here" He was a 6 foot plus male & extremely aggressive. I took the offered trolley, thanked the female service person & did my shopping all the while shaking. While walking away ,I heard him shouting out instructions to those people behind me in the line ,"not to talk on their phones & follow the instructions" . On leaving the shop ,I spoke to a female service person about talking to a manager about this event & she said that it was her at the entrance & she had witnessed the incident. She told me it would be best if I didnt approach him , to voice my displeasure "as he was only doing his job". As it turns out , he wasnt there when I left. Why do you employ bullies to interact with already stressed customers . Im interested in...
