I have visited the Night Market as both a Customer and as a Stall Holder. The experience is very different depending on which one you are. As a customer, I absolutely love the atmosphere, which is buzzing with all the various Asian languages within hearing that add to the excitement and enjoyment. Beautiful people. Very tasty hot and cold dishes of which there are so many varieties. You must try the dumplings. There's chicken, pork and lamb dumplings. Yuuuummm! I couldn't get enough of these. There's also lots of lovely gift ideas to choose from.
If you are contemplating becoming a stall holder of products that are not food, this is my experience to share to help you decide: The more carparks you book, the more likely you are to become permanent. Those managing the night market here seemed to show a preference for those who pay for 2, 3 or more carparks for their stall. I base this on the fact that on my first stall here I saw those with only 1 carpark space all shoved down the far end of the market. I heard them grumbling about being shifted around all over the place, even though they've been selling at this market for over 10 years!!! Wow! I would've thought this qualified as permanent!
I was moved along 4 x carpark spaces, after spending 30 minutes setting up. I set up because upon my arrival I could not find the managers, who were not answering their phone, despite numerous calls and texts. There were NO staff visible, (for example, wearing High Visibility Vests) and I arrived at 4.30pm. I put myself down the far end because I was new. However, I was told by both Managers to make way for a "Permanent" stall holder, that was over an hour late. I believe this stall holder was made permanent on his second week of selling here, simply because he has 3 carpark spaces for his stall, each space costing around possibly $40 each. I had paid $40 for my 1 x carpark space. He told me this himself when I asked him.
I personally found the experience disappointing, not because of the customers, but because of the management, who were rude and...

History: Originally opened in 1965 as the Pakuranga Town Centre, the mall was one of the earliest malls in New Zealand, incorporating Farmers and George Court department stores. The mall itself has been transformed several times since it was first built and retains little of the 1960s style it once had. Originally it was open to air.
Operations and rank: In a 2008 rating of New Zealand shopping centres by a retail expert group, Westfield Pakuranga received three out of four stars based on the criteria of amount of shopping area, economic performance, amenity and appeal as well as future growth prospects. It was noted to have received a relatively high rating even though struggling with major competition from Botany Town Centre and Sylvia Park.
On December 10, 2012 the mall was sold to Ladstone Holdings Ltd and was renamed Pakuranga Plaza. The mall was resold in October 2014 to GYP Properties.
As additional feature, busway and bus station also in the shopping center, as an intermediate stop on the Eastern Busway. This busway is connected with Botany Town Centre and Panmure...
