Central City Camping Park — Attraction in Invercargill City

Super friendly staff and they allow check in till late (I was around 8pm and other campgrounds were closed)! Everything was very clean and functional! They provide you with: a kitchen, a laundry (need 2 dollar coins), toilets and showers. I didn't have coins for the laundry and they charged my card for that and gave me enough coins. The kitchen is very well equipped, everything is functional and in great condition. Having a few micro wave ovens is rare in campgrounds. I found there a lot of forks and spoons while in other campgrounds they usually lack. 7 minutes of hot water shower was a bless and you can prolong, but need to enter a code another time. Not a problem considering how much joy you have in a hot shower after days of traveling. As a bonus you can find there super big white cat which is very friendly and has so soft fur! You can pet the cat for hours but it is not allowed to feed him because he is very fat! Next time I will definitely choose...

I booked for two cabins but only one was cleaned. The other cabin has a lingering cigarette smoke smell and beddings are not properly cleaned, totally different from the photos of the room and bedding I have seen before I booked. Long story short, we stayed in one cabin and asked for a refund (to this day, three weeks after we left, no refund has been given). The next day, I saw a professional cleaner was sent to clean the cabin. Before we left, a female couple living in one of the cabin were fighting outside and in the public bathroom. It appears to me that they are long term tenants as I have read in another review about their fights. It was very traumatic for my children to witness them. I and another camper has spoken to the staff to call the police but nothing happened. I had been following up regarding the refund until now but likewise, no action...

DO NOT BOOK HERE Nothing like the photos on booking site, absolutely disgusting rooms. Stained floors, walls and huge stains on the beds. The room smelt like there was something dead in it. The cabins on both sides are also lived in, and look like rubbish dumps! Bathrooms - mens showers were filthy (curtains included) and urinal was boarded up. Woman's bathroom had only one shower because one was broken. The kitchen lounger area was very old, dirty, and smelt rotten also. Owner was trying to say “but what is the problem” when told all of these things and requesting a refund. Fought on the phone for 20+ minutes before telling him I would put it online. **Feel extremely sorry for the kind man on reception having to deal with the issues the owners won’t fix. Save your fight, money and time and DO NOT BOOK HERE. You will be highly disappointed...
