One of a lady kiwi staff is very arrogant! We are quite often for lunch and dinner there. However, this is the second time that I felt unsatisfied from that kiwi lady staff. First time, when we went into the restaurant she informed us that they will be closed in half an hour, can we finished by that time? Otherwise, they do have take away boxes available. So, we finished that meal very rush. Today, we went for lunch again, when we seat down, she informed us with no smile that meals will be take a bit longer as they are very busy. Later, when she deliver the meal to our table I was looking at my infant baby as she starts to make noise, and I didn't say thank you. She put the meal on the table without introduce the name of the food. Instead, she was saying "you're welcome" just because I didn't say thank you to her. Really? This is how you treated a regular customer? My husband running a restaurant as well, and I was working in hospitality for 8 and half years. I don't think a good customer service should be like this just because you are a busy and popular restaurant! We do really appreciated to our regular customers and treated them very polite. We even can remember what is their favorite and always ordered foods and drinks. We been there quite a lot and no other staff gave us this uncomfortable feelings. They were all very nice and polite, introduce the name of each meal when they deliver to our table. Not like this kiwi lady staff just put the meal on the table with no introduce no smile. Very disappointed experience not only...
Read moreMy friend and I came to Invercargill to fly to Steward Island to do the great walk. We live in Auckland and have been craving a good sushi place, but have had no luck. I decided to try our luck while on this holiday, so we ended up at Koji after reading some good reviews. Now let me tell you, this place DID NOT let us down. Koji has somehow managed to serve the absolute best piece of salmon nigiri I have ever tried in my entire life. The fish was perfectly prepared and melted in my mouth. The rice was cooked to perfection and rolled into a little ball for easy handling and gorgeous presentation. It was the perfect amount of rice for each bite. We ended up ordering 3 more rounds of just the salmon nigiri. We could have kept going, too, but we did not want to be annoying customers or for our stomachs to explode. We also shared the fried spicy tuna roll which is an honorable mention as it was delicious. Lastly, I ordered a raspberry coke and prayed to God I would be lucky enough to have such a perfect meal like this again one day. The restaurant is small and intimate with little curtains around the high top tables for a perfect amount of privacy. There were buttons to push to let our server know we needed them, but the entire staff was so attentive that it was almost unnecessary. If I ever go back to Invercargill it will be solely because I want to eat the salmon nigiri from Koji...

There's a few Japanese Restaurants and shops selling sushi in town but so far this is the place for best sushi so far. Fresh and yummy. I went for the first time to dine in and ordered Seafood Bento lunch special for $15. It looks good than it taste. Its not too bad, its actually good. Its just a bit salty for a Teriyaki sauce for my liking. The meso soup is quite salty as well but its fine i manage to finished it. It was a good lunch but not as pleasant as what I expected to be. The green tea was way far from my expectation, it was just a cold green tea and i did nt finished it what a waste of $3 but its me I made a wrong choice. Maybe if i order next time I will get somehthing else as there are so many varieties of sushi, noodles tempura and more. Next time i will give a review again. Staff are...
