A beautifully maintained city hall/theatre which had a major refit back stage some years ago which allows incredible touring shows to have confidence in that their needs are met for the many production companies that book this pearl of a venue knowing it offers the best in Australasia and our local productions are far better for having such an amazing staging set. Read moreAfter visiting the Civic theatre in Invercargill a few times now working with a touring band, I love this venue. The older architecture is awesome, foyer and theatre are something to write home about, and the marble & gold work is simplystunning. Definitely my favourite theatre venue in NZ. The local staff are so helpful and fun, although after all these trips I never got to meet Fred the friendly local ghost, which was a shame! Can't wait to get back here...
