Kauri point domain, has earned its place as one of Auckland’s best short dog walks.
From the beautiful pathed course traveling to the private beach you can smell fresh ocean breezes bouncing off the Hauraki, in the distance you can see small water vessels and the occasional avid sailor out on the water.
Our dog gets to meet plenty of new characters and had a field day marking up every tree until his bladder had run out of juice.
At the end of the walk the dogs can dance in the sea together while white pasty men are seen floating around in bay.

Just wish the idea of leaving fully loaded plastic bags left by inconsiderate owners could be dealt with and disposed of, instead of left path side for others to pick up after. Two receptacles people! One at either end of the park. Are bags a concern? Buy biodegradable. Still a concern, bring a garden trowel. The park in sweltering heat smells like a total cesspit. Read moreKauri Point Domain is accessible via Balmain Road and is a nice walk through the dense bush. Dogs are allowed in this reserve and can be found at almost all times. There is a connecting walk to the Muriel Fisher Reserve but that is closed at the moment for maintenance. The walkway is mostly gravel but easy to walk through. Fitzpatrick Bay Beach is also accessible on this walkway. It is ideal for a couple of hours walk in the bush and disconnecting from the busy city suburban surroundings. Well...
