Weren't too sure about this place, across the road from a busy Bus depot but food sits in cabinet most days. Got Japanese katsu chicken burger & serve of wedges. Katsu chicken came on large brioche bun, both were dry & small pattie (NZ$11) Wedges served with sour cream & sweet-chilli sauce (NZ$7) hands-down best in Auckland, crispy on the outside & perfection on the inside, beautifully cooked. Service is fast, food well packaged . Unfortunately the male owner's attitude towards customers has progressively worsen. To be in hospitality and not realize that good service esp. how you engage with people goes hand-in-hand with great food is such a waste. Very, very rude owner...

This place has greatly improved!! My top bakery for the area now. Its really hard to find any bakery that has different dietry requirement on the menu.The sandwiches aren't skimp at all and the vegetarian pie choice is great. Other pies and food from the board have been great too. I'd still love to see more cabnit options...

Best pies in the birkdale, Beach haven area. I'm sure other food is of higher quality aswell but I only buy the pies. You can tell just from the steak it isn't as chewy as other bakeries. And even the jelly or gravy that fills the pie is noticeably better than...
