Skateland Roller Skating & Sports Rink — Attraction in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Disgusting. Waited for 25 extra minutes after the opening time while the staff scanned every single vax pass, only to tell everyone repeatedly that was off the rink, to wear a mask. Not only was it 25 degrees on Saturday but after everyone literally touching everyone doing the conga with no masks on and breathing in every one else's air, they then tried to get people to put masks back on while getting off while extremely hot. What planet are you on ? planet duh ? Don't you even think about blaming the government as there is no where else this happens, when you go into a restaurant you take your mask off and that's that. You are pathetic and will not be supporting anymore. Shame...

I'll keep it brief. My daughter had a VIP voucher for one free lesson and opted for the Speed Skate School Tuesday 6 - 7 pm. She was really excited and got there in time only to be told that she's not allowed to hire skates. Apparently she needed to bring her own. Nothing of that is printed on the voucher. So here's the million dollar question, if it's only one lesson which likely serves as a trial - why would you buy a pair of skates without knowing if your child would express further interest. Isn't hiring a pair of skates the most obvious thing to do until you have certainty that your child wants to sign up...

Review updated: My daughter broke her arm while at this venue over the holidays, these things happen ... however when her dad asked staff to call an ambulance, he was told they weren't authorised to!!! Not good enough, he should have been able to stay with our daughter and comfort her etc instead of making calls!!!! Hence the new rating
