CamJet - Jet Boat Departure Point Cambridge — Attraction in North Island

I can't recommend this highly enough. CamJet is an excellent option instead of the mega-expensive Huka Jet and similar @ Taupo. The Waikato river through Cambridge is amazing and changes from narrow gorge, to wide open river you may be more familiar with. You really must do the full 45 minute tour as this takes you all the way up to the Karapiro hydro electric dam face. It is impressive & daunting from river level. Our tour guide Aaron was funny and easy-going, making sure everyone has a blast. He is also very knowledgeable and passionate about the area, telling many good yarns along the way (at the brief, quiet spots) - this is sandwiched in between high speed manoeuvres with plenty of 360 deg spins!! Although we really enjoyed the actual boat ride to the Fieldays we were VERY unimpressed with Aaron's people skills. I sadly made the mistake of booking the wrong day, which I fully admit was my fault but Aaron point blank refused to consider changing the day. Yes, that is his prerogative but he was so grumpy, arrogant and declined to discuss this. I rebooked at more expense as we were travelling with family . On the day of the trip his demenour was just the same to the point that as we walked up from the boat ramp to the Fieldays lots of the passengers were talking about it!! During the day it rained and when we came to come back the seats were wet. He wiped them with a very wet towel so that we all had wet trousers when we got out! Lots of things that could...

We Loved the CamJet experience. This is a fab experience for families and groups. Our children are 12 and 17 and loved it as much as I did! Aaron our skipper and guide was very skilled giving lots of 180s and 360s as well as being very knowledgable about history and nature of the route! We love cambridge (it is our third visit here from the uk) and I would highly recommend it as a base for visiting New Zealand! There is a lot to do and it is one of the safest places on the north island along with being beautiful and easy access to Raglan, Taupo, Rotarua, Mount Maunganui and so much more!
