We were in Cambridge for the weekend attending the Hydro thunder Nationals. Our last day was my husbands birthday so we took him out for breakfast before leaving town. The outside area appeared to be dirty, possibly from a busy weekend, we decided to sit inside for this reason. Dirty paper copies of the menu were available from the counter and it was an order at the conter service. I ordered the avacado smash which said it came with poached eggs and toasted ciabatta bread, the meal had one poached egg and the bread was not toasted but unfortunately soggy. Dish was presented well and other ingredients were tasy, the one poached egg was delicious. My large latte was an excellent coffee, the best I had all weekend. We also ordered the kids pancakes which was a basic kids meal and fine. The third meal we ordered was the fried chicken waffles. Presentation was average but it was waffles and fried chicken so the taste was fine, difficult to get that one wrong. Overall it was an average experience and not good value for a traveling family. I stopped by for a quick coffee, and I was blown away by how good it was! The Flate White with Hazelnut shot was perfectly brewed—smooth, flavorful, and just the right strength. But what really surprised me was the carrot cake! It was moist, full of flavor, and had just the right amount of sweetness, topped with a creamy frosting that was absolutely divine. Overall pretty disappointing. Stopped in for a quick catch up with a customer over a coffee. Paperwork got stuck to the table it was that sticky, left paper on the table when trying to lift it off. Ordered a Cronut to go with the coffee, for some reason they heated it so the butter ran out of it making a mess and the custard centre just went weird, not nice at all.
