The beach itself is like Petone but smaller. A pro the place has compared to Petone: being a contained beach, bigger than others nearby and being next to and isolated place like Eastbourne, ended up making it a very good spot for activities. You can rent bikes or kayaks, enjoy the park and restaurant on the other side of the road (which also offer shelter from the constant wind) and, of course, enjoy the beach in the rare days...
