My partner hired single kayak for 90 mins. When she went to return kayak/gear in 30 mins time because all of a sudden it was windy and sea waters was unsafe for kayak.
Girls at the counter asked for her name, not checked name in computer and said that she is just on time that she hired kayak for 30 mins???. I overheard this conversation and went inside to correct this. No intentions to ask for refund for remaining 60mins to be clear. I purely went inside to correct the girls because I thought may have looked at the wrong person. When I asked one of the girl to please check my partners name and let me know if she hired kayak for 30 mins or 90 mins. She did some research on computer and said oh yea it was 90 mins. I was surprised to see this irresponsible behaviour.
After this I asked the girl to confim price of 90min hire because my partner paid $40. I just wanted to check that $40 were for 90 mins not 30 mins. Girl at the counter took some time to check price in the computer. Whilst she was searching for the price in her pc. I looked around the shop and noticed the price list at the back of pc screen i.e. 90 min single kayak hire $40. As I was about to say nevermind I just checked the price list. In that very moment Girl responded and said it is $45 for single kayak 90 min hire. Information mismatch?? 2 different price for single kayak hire within 30 min of hire??. Now Iām feeling whether my partner was charged incorrect amount or prices just changed within 30mins time and they are not updated in shop???.
You need to properly search the person name and check their hire time when equipment is retuned than just saying āyou are just on timeā. I hope times are recorded somewhere. If you donāt pay attention. Anybody could use kayak over their hire limit & Itāll be a loss for the business if their hire time is not checked upon gear return. Atleast, I was suprised to hear that girl didnāt check our kayak hire time and just said. She is on time. I did not feel right about this.
If price list at the back of pc screen is wrong you need to update pricing.
We enjoyed 30 min kayak. Pity that it tuned windy and we had to leave. Would love to come back another beautiful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe loved our e-bike experience today. We had never tried e-bikes before but we are now definitely going to buy them. We had planned to start our hire at Days Bay, but due to being short staffed we needed to hop on the bus down to their main depot/workshop at Pencarrow. After riding down to the lighthouses, we locked them up back at Day's Bay when we were finished so we could just get back on the ferry. On the way back we stopped by and had a goin anod converation with Dave, the owner. He was great! Very helpful and informative to guide us in what to go for when we look to purchase our e-bikes. Would highly recommend him and his business operation. Such a great location for riding, with great views over the water and along...

Jump off the harbour ferry from downtown Wellington and get straight in to the water and paddling. Days Bay is a great sheltered bay and the kids are pretty happy with cruising around the wharf, watching the wharf jumpers, paddling underneath and out to the swimming raft. Pop over the road for a wood-fired pizza then come back to the beach to eat it and then the Boatshed again to grab an...
