1Sep22 It's been nearly two years! And I'm glad to report that my wife and I had superb icecreams here this afternoon after lunch next door. Firm, crisp, fresh cones, Generously sized two scoops of taste-filled rich ice cream. Yumm. We floated back to Auckland on our homeward drive. Thank you Lady Jane's crew! 24Dec20 1412 Merry Christmas to Lady Jane's and its staff. Thank you for your response today 24 December to my 14 November review. Hope you are all well. Look forward to enjoying your product afresh in 2021. 14Nov20 1446 I bought four cones with different flavours. I've bought lots of icecreams here over the years. This time for some reason the icecream was awful. Watery. Low density. So it melted fast and dripped like crazy onto my granddaughters' hands and clothes. The density was so low that one of our icecreams couldn't keep its shape at the top of the cone and fell out onto the footpath. Ugh! It didn't help that the icecream was already soft in the display service freezers. You know you're going to have trouble when you see the store attendant rolling your icecream with a scoop and the icecream is already soft and shiny because it's melting .. right there in the cabinet before the attendant hands your icecream to you. This time it wasn't like typical Kiwi icecream usually with highish cream and solids content. Considering the experience and quality these icecreams are expensive at $3.90 for one scoop and $6.90 for three scoops. And the cones? Cheap and skinny. Fresh and crisp but nasty hard bits that make for a bad biting experience. Plus 46 cents surcharge for credit card payment. Very unusual bad experience this time. Looking forward to the usual perfect one next time!

If I could put 0 stars I will do it, today I had an extremely upsetting and discriminatory experience at this establishment. I came in with my family and we were completely ignored while other customers—who arrived after us and obviously looking locals and kiwis —were served promptly. The person that I asked for assistance send me to a queue , so I done it , while I realised that people who were arriving after me, was getting served. When I politely asked for assistance to the person who send me to do the queue, the staff member started being very disrespectful at me and arguing. She said clearly I won’t give you any attention you can keep waiting, When I asked for the manager, the shift supervisor was equally rude, laughed at my complaint, and continued mocking me together with the other staff. Everyone at the store, who were kiwis looked at home and laughed too. As an immigrant and obviously not a Kiwi looking, I felt disrespected, excluded, and racially discriminated against. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and should not be tolerated in a multicultural country like New Zealand. I am reporting this incident through the appropriate formal channels. I strongly advise against supporting this place if you care about respect and equality.

Very cool little spot next to the strip of restaurants on Eat Street in Rotorua. There are a lot of ice cream options including standard flavors and also some Kapati special flavors that are a little pricier. The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. It was busy but the girls working were quick to take and prepare our orders. I ordered the Kapati berry ice cream and it was served with fresh cream on top and the berry sauce in a waffle cone - delicious. Husband ordered a ice cream sundae with a brownie. Again, it was with the fresh cream which was amazing! There was also a fridge with drinks. No complaints about the staff, service, or ice cream! Additional notes... did not see a bathroom on site. We went at night and there were little flies EVERYWHERE around the lights which were placed over the outdoor seating. This meant we couldn't sit on the chairs/tables as there were little flies all over them. Not at the fault of the parlour or staff.

The worse customer service , the rudest employee i have ever come into contact with, shame on your staff you better train them. I even wanted to complain to the manager about the way they talked to me and disrespected me , what happened is i ordered ice cream with chocolate topping and they poured fudge istead,my husband went to them to correct the mistake they poured the chocolate on top of the fudge ,it looked very unpleasant to eat. so I went to them and asked them nicely to remove the top layer and add only chocolate, i didn't ask to change order or make their life difficult, she then tells me we do not accept your order because of your germs. And kept repeating covid regulation, the way she said it and the word she used was very unprofessional and rude. she says that after slapping her thighs because she didn't want to remove the top layer , she says later i don't know what you want we are busy ,and kept repeating to throw my ice cream into the garbage, she didn't offer to give another one or replace it , i said i don't tolerate the way you talk to me , and her colleagues takes her to the side and tells her to not treat me like this .and after her colleague stops her she then offer to change my order with rudness.afterwards she feels forced to treat me in a better way to not lose her job because the rest of the staff have noticed I hope someone reads this and reply to me honestly , not with an automatic fake reply , but actually have a conversation with me and apologize, i came to rotorua to have a relaxing time instead i get met with such rude emplyee who has no manners . I'm so disappointed and frustrated i will not forget the way she talked to me , i was raised on manners and respect to...

Worst experience of my life!!!

"Where do I even begin? My visit to Lady Janes Ice Cream Parlour was a nightmare from start to finish. Not only did their incompetence nearly send my sister to the hospital due to a severe peanut allergy, but the utter lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the staff was beyond appalling.

Despite clearly communicating my sister's allergy to our server, Emily, she managed to mess up our order, leading to my sister taking one bite of her ice cream only to realize it was laced with peanut crumbles. The ensuing panic and rush to administer her epipen were traumatic, to say the least.

But what truly astounded me was Emily's dismissive and condescending attitude when confronted about her mistake. Her blasé remarks about the proximity of the hospital and insinuations that ending up in the hospital after consuming their ice cream was commonplace bordered on negligence.

To add insult to injury, her racist remarks towards our ethnicity further escalated the situation. It was clear that Lady Janes Ice Cream Parlour not only lacks a proper complaint system but also fails miserably in taking responsibility for their errors.

The fact that neither the other staff nor the elusive owners, Mr. and Mrs. Winstanley, were willing to address our concerns speaks volumes about their disregard for customer safety and satisfaction.

Our family's trip to New Zealand was marred by this horrendous experience, and I wouldn't wish the same ordeal on anyone else. If you value your health and sanity, steer clear of Lady Janes Ice Cream Parlour. Trust me, it's not...
