Whenever my wife and I visit this place we feel we have been transported to Paradise! And that's because: It's situated in such a beautiful position at the foot of Mt Te Aroha in Te Aroha's beautifully maintained Domain. The building in which the spa is housed oozes with atmosphere which matches the ambience of its surroundings. When you walk into the complex, you are always greeted by such lovely people who are eager to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The complex is immaculately maintained (squeaky-clean!) while still retaining its cozy-warm atmosphere. When you walk into your super-clean private room, all the facilities you could possibly want are at your disposal, and then when you walk around the corner, you are greeted by your own wooden tub full to the brim with crystal-clear mineral water. It feels so good to litterally slip into the soft soda water which is already at the perfect temperature (but can so easily be adjusted after getting used to it and as it cools when we like it just a bit hotter). And when our time is up, we are left with super soft, silky skin that feels so good that we have to admit to not using the available shower because we like to hold on to that feeling for as long as possible! Highly...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting this lovely hot spring facility and wanted to share my positive experience with others. My buddy and I booked a 45-minute session in the double hot spring tub, and we were delighted to find that each room comes equipped with its own private bathroom and changing area - a very thoughtful touch.
The hot spring water in the wooden tub was crystal clear and had a bubble function that added to the overall relaxation. We were also impressed with the fact that we could adjust the temperature by adding cold or hot water to the tub according to our preference. The tub itself was spacious enough for at least four people, and a timer conveniently alerted us when our time was up.
What I appreciated most was that this hot spring was mineral-based, so there was none of the sulfuric smell you might expect from other hot springs, like Rotorua. In fact, the mineral content was beneficial for the skin, making it a dual-purpose experience. Not only did we feel relaxed and soothed, but we also left with our skin feeling rejuvenated and healthy.
Overall, I highly recommend this hot spring facility. The private rooms and mineral-based hot spring water make for a truly...
Read moreAlways an enjoyable experience, as part of a short evening trip. Driving to Te Aroha in the early evening from Hamilton means you will travel through classic Waikato farmlands, while in front of you are the green mountains that the spa rests in the foothills of. The town itself is aesthetically appealing, a preservation of 20th century Englishness. The Domain has the local museum, bandstand and a good little playground in case you arrive early. There are several restaurants on the mainstreet that could be worth a look. The spa itself is tidy, warm and clean, with wood paneling common. The staff further enhance the warmth and peace of the spa with customer service with little fuss and quiet voices. Costs are affordable: a family of five costs $66.00 for 30 minutes, more than enough for a young family. 45 and 60 minute times are also available. The private spa rooms have changing areas, showers to wash off the days dirt, and privacy curtains on the assumption that you are a group that needs it. The tubs themselves are large, wooden affairs, with submerged seating making for a very...
