We absolutely loved this hike! A bit challenging but worth every steep climb. Side nite, be careful if using Google maps to direct you to the trailhead--we ended up at the fire road, which does connect to the walking trail eventually if you stay to the left at every fork. We encountered a small herd of wild goats at the meadow just above the main walking path entrance, which was an unexpected bonus. 😁

You can check the status and conditions with the Department of Conservation before starting the trek. The path is maintained and there are a few people jogging/running on the way to the top. Mostly going uphill towards the summit and Basket of Dreams. Say hi to fellow hikers on the way!

Amazing views once you get to the Basket of Dreams, well worth the walk up. No water of toilet facilities on this trial so freshen up before you start and bring a bottle of water.

The Basket of Dreams is an interesting sculpture on Queenstown Hill. It forms part of a loop on the track so that you end up here no matter which way you go. The views here were quite nice as it overlooks the lake. It took about 30 min to get here from the carpark but I was walking a bit fast since I was pressed for time.
