Wow!! Absolutely blown away when we arrived here - everything is perfect. Immaculate villas with stunning Interior design and views ( we stayed in Villa 1). Wishing that we could stay here forever. Modern but also amazingly cozy!!! Thanks for the stay - we will be coming back next year.
Just updating my review After returning home from the Villa I realised we were given a $475 excess/extra cleaning fee. This is when we have already paid over $18,000 for two weeks accomodation. We were conscious when we left the Villa that we left it in good condition and make sure it was adequately clean. I've never had this occur in any other place we've stayed and I feel this was a money grab. You've tried to say there was a stain on the carpet and also ottoman ( which we didn't even use ). You've also said in your report the "floors and rooms are very dusty" I don't know how you think we could have contributed to dust in the rooms or how you think you can charge us for "dust". Also, I didn't mention in my initial review but the lounge was damaged, and had a very sharp metal piece on the corner which could have injured my young children if they bumped into it ( was at their head height ). We needed to get this covered up during the stay by you to avoid anyone getting hurt - you simply put some unsightly plastic tape on it - we would expect more when paying $18K. Its a shame to need to change my original review as we had a lovely stay besides...
Read moreReturning to Commonage Villa after five years, I'm sorry to say that what once attracted me most about this place has disappeared, and the quality of service has declined drastically. I am very disappointed.
Many of the services that were once available, such as private chef services, massages, and the like, are now gone. The taxi vouchers for guests have been discontinued, and the pre-arrival emails are no longer as detailed, warm, and welcoming as they used to be. Even additional requests sent via booking platforms twice went unanswered. After check-in, when we needed to contact staff, there was no information booklet or landline in the room as used to —just a cold, impersonal QR code. Even the fresh flowers on the table have been replaced with plastic ones. Unbelievable.
When I called via mobile, the staff's indifferent attitude made me feel like as if I were disturbing them and they couldn’t wait for me to hang up.
If my previous stay at Commonage left me with the impression of a beautiful place offering warm and unobtrusive service, this time it felt like the current level of service simply doesn’t justify the price.
My husband and I had wonderful memories from our last stay, which is why I specifically recommended it to my family for this trip. Little did I know that aside from the higher price, everything else has gone downhill. Truly...
Read moreReally disappointing for the price - the sheets were synthetic so they are itchy and hot, while the bed sinks in the middle and is uncomfortable at best. The living room, view and fireplace are all lovely and we did like having the living area while travelling with friends. Don't expect any service whatsoever - they left us with 2 tiny little bottles of shower gel and body cream for 4 people for 4 nights. When I rang them and asked for more they didn't answer the phone and then left me two messages saying they don't replace toiletries or things in the room. I had also asked for lots of tea, which they didn't provide. We ended up buying a lot of those small things ourselves which is fine except that you expect more from high end accomodation like this. I think it is the small things that make the biggest difference and they just didn't provide us with a good experience in the end. Also the location is a bit crap as they are up the back of this massive hill that you have to trek up and down to get to Queenstown. You are better off staying down the hill or...
