Adventure Junkies — Local services in South Island

The ten days I spent touring the South Island on the Adrenalin Junkie tour have truly yielded some of the best experiences of my life. The schedule is packed with so many amazing activities (hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, etc.), but is well balanced with a few longer drives and periods of free time so it's not overwhelming. This tour included every activity I would have self planned as well as several others I wouldn't have thought of, packaged together in a way that eliminates all the logistical hassles of traveling solo. It's definitely a great value and well worth the money to avoid having to make individual bookings and figure out driving/navigating. Russ was extremely communicative in the months leading up to the tour as I emailed him my many, many questions.

As a solo female traveler, I felt completely comfortable and included at all times. Our group was made up of quite a few solo travelers who were all awesome open people and we quickly made friends and formed a nice little cohesive group. We had 7 people in our group, which was a nice balance of being small enough to get to know everyone but not so small that there wasn't anyone to interact with.

Our tour guide, Ryan, was absolutely phenomenal. He constantly ensured that everyone was prepared, comfortable, and having a great experience. Whether it was providing us with bug spray/sunscreen, lending us extra base layers, or even lending me his own hat when it was raining, Ryan took such amazing care of us. I had injured my ankle just a few weeks before this trip, so I was very worried about not being able to keep up with the hiking and lagging behind or ruining the experience for others. Ryan was so supportive and made me feel completely comfortable about doing what I could; he was super encouraging without pushing me past what I was able to do with my injury. There truly aren't enough words to express how wonderfully Ryan cared for us all. The way he took care of everything completely removed all of my underlying anxiety and made this trip unforgettable. Plus, he's freaking hilarious and kept us all engaged and entertained throughout the trip.

Overall, this entire trip surpassed my wildest expectations. There's nothing I can think of that I would have changed; it was an absolutely perfect 10 days that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thanks so much for Russ and Ryan for...

My experience with Adventure Junkies was phenomenal - I cannot recommend Russ and his team highly enough!

I did the 10 Day Adrenalin Tour from Christchurch to Queenstown in October 2023 and everything about the trip was amazing from the small group (4 people), to the witty banter and amazing sights. If you are a thrill seeker, the Adrenalin Tour is for you -the itinerary was packed with awesome activities (including zip lining, bungy jumping and sky diving) but was balanced with a few free afternoons to explore along the way.

There were a few minor changes to our itinerary due to the weather and maintenance works, however this was navigated seamlessly and the alternative activities were just as awesome (I particularly enjoyed the white water rafting substitute of river kayaking).

We were fortunate to have Russ as our guide who is both an awesome guide and lovely human. He was very relaxed and friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time by providing advice and recommendations including on the best places to grab dinner (breakfast and lunch are included!) and sharing his inside knowledge on the best local attractions and photo opportunities! He is also very knowledgeable about New Zealand and enhanced our experience by providing a range of commentary on the various cultural, historical and geological/geographic features of our travels.

I can't wait to head back to New Zealand for my next Adventure...

THE BEST TOUR EVER Word cannot describe how amazing it was to be on the Adrenaline Junkies tour in New Zealand. From the booking progress, the follow ups leading up to the trip, to the daily check in’s from Russ. He truly is amazing at what he does and his effort and care to booking activities that you want to do while you’re over in NZ is next to perfect. The tour is extreeeeemmly well priced and grantees a great bang for your buck!

The tour itself is jam packed full of laughs, adrenaline gripping activities and beautiful food. It is 100% a tour you can do by yourself, with a partner or your family.

We had the pleasure of having Ryan as our tour guide. WOW, was he full of knowledge and kindness(with the occasional dad joke). He truly did make this trip to NZ run so smoothly and showed us places that no other tour would even think about travelling. His recommendations from food, travel, activities and of course card games really made the trip a once in a life time experience.

If you love adventure and thrill, then the adventure junkies, Adrenaline junkies tour is the perfect tour for you! The memories that you make with the people in the tour are ones to never forget.
