Onetangi Beach Apartments — Attraction in Waiheke

We've now stayed here twice, once for a conference and once for a family holiday. Both times, I was seriously disappointed with their ability to accommodate our baby, which is surprising, given that at least half of the other guests seemed to have children. On our recent stay, we asked repeatedly for our room to be a cleaned between 11 and 2, or else after 4, to avoid our toddlers nap times. Although they told us each time this wasn't a problem, they woke him twice and ultimately our room was never cleaned (during a 3 day stay). On the last stay nap times were more frequent, so I just put up with cleaning during naps, with baby still in the room. They offer a travel cot (for a fee), but the one they provided was huge, and didn't fit in the bedroom, so this time we brought our own. The other detail that really irritated me was that when we checked out we told them that we had broken a plate and chipped another, and they actually charged us for them. They weren't very expensive, but that was almost worse: the apartment was NOT cheap, so it felt really stingy of them to be charging for what I would consider a standard operating cost. The location is lovely, and it's nice that they offer a barbecue for guests to use, but if we return to the area in the future we'll look for somewhere...

We stayed here for a family celebration involving 15 people from various countries. We booked 4 apartments and this set up worked perfectly for our 4 families. It gave lots of opportunities for doing things all together, as well as the chance for everyone to pace themselves and join in or retreat when it suited.||The Managers could not have been more friendly and helpful. They certainly added to the success of the gathering. ||As many others have already mentioned the location is superb with the ocean just steps away, restaurants on the doorstep, and also a bus stop close to the apartments. The buses run regularly and we found the bus drivers very friendly. We appreciated the new supermarket which was only a few minutes walk away and has a takeaway shop over the road. ||The Apartments themselves were well equipped, spacious and clean. They were big enough for the times when we all wanted to be together.||We were very happy with our choice of venue for this...

Loved the location and proximity to the beach and local cafe/bars. The apartment was great with balconies at both ends of the upstairs living area, one end with a good view of the beach. It was well appointed accommodation, plenty of space with all you need including bbq which was well used. Our kids loved the short walk to the beach for morning and evening swims. Two areas of disappointment were the Wi-Fi that worked intermittently on any of our devices. The other was the water outages which happened twice. The second time was from 5pm til when we checked out at 10am which left us a bit frustrated with little acknowledgement from the office other than it's was going to cost them alot to fix and it's the joys on living on the island. At $500/night, with no drinking water, showers, toilets for this amount of time, more acknowledgement on their part would have been nice. communication, maybe delivery of bottled water or even a small refund would have been...
