The cable car is a technological marvel. When you pay for the ticket, you are paying for a two-way trip. You can travel up to the Gondol and take the cable car back with the same ticket. When we took the cable car, the weather was not so great. It was rainy and slightly foggy. So we did not enjoy the view so much. Also what we didn't like was that the cable car's glasses were tinted. So it was hard to fully enjoy the views. The weather on the top can be very windy. So take your windbreakers and some merino wool sweaters if you plan to take pictures in the nature.

Voss Gondol is the largest and most modern mountain gondola in Northern Europe. It swiftly transports passengers from an elevation of 56 meters above sea level (MASL) to an impressive 818 MASL in under 9 minutes. During the ride, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Voss town centre, the serene Vangsvatnet lake, and the majestic mountains that surround the area. At the top, you’ll find Hangurstoppen Restaurant, which boasts panoramic vistas and a focus on locally sourced, delicious food.

Absolutely amazing, and a must during any stay in Voss. The gentleman at the base of the gondola was a great guide; with 30mins before they stopped taking people up, he assured us it would be a good idea to grab our bathing suits quickly for a refreshing lake swim at the top. We did so, and it was really great. That, the giant swing, and the restaurant were great ways to enjoy Voss for a few hours, and the view from the top was gorgeous.

Went up to the mountain through Gondola on a very sunny day! Very very lucky. We managed to see the mountains with clear blue skies. The gondola is pram friendly. You can take yours and there are lift. There is enough space in the gondola as well to store your prams. You don’t need to wear hiking boots if you just take the gondola up and down. Though it would be a different story I’d choose to hike down or up.

This was the best part of visiting Voss for me. 465 NOK return trip. Amazing views, great 1 km scenic walk around the top and a great cafe for a coffee with a view. Highly recommend when you’re visiting Voss. We went on a Tuesday on our way driving to Flam and it was quiet, I’d recommend holding back and getting your own one if you can cause it can be harder to film or enjoy shared with strangers.

Spectacular ride up and down the mountain. The gondola has quite a bit of height some places, making the trip a bit sensational. There are plenty of hiking options at the top. I was somewhat shocked at the price - nearly 1000 NOK for a family of 4! And the food and snack prices at the top are just as shocking. Pack a lunch instead!
