This is a magnificent place. Unfortunately, I was unable to take in all its glory because I had to leave early to catch my flight and traffic is horrendous. I was here for maybe 15 minutes tops 😔.The visit to the Cathedral is part of a tour package that my friend and I bought. Word of advice, skip the tour and go straight to the Cathedral instead. As expected, the upkeep of the Catherdral is impressive. For a building constructed in the 1600's, there is no sign of aging. It appears that it was constructed from the finest and most expensive material, such things that are seemingly absent from today's architecture. There are several chapels here to the Saints, the history behind this I did not quite get because the tour guide was stingy with the details. Any way, I took a few pictures that I think the public will appreciate. There is one thing that I have to point out about the worship area, and that is, it did not seem intimate enough. I say this because the chairs for the congregation are so far apart from the pulpit. Not to mention, all the vast space that exists in...

Beautiful CATHEDRAL, we are catholics and we love going to different CATHEDRALS , BASILICAS & CHURCHES when we visit different countries. This CATHEDRAL is a Roman Catholic CATHEDRAL that is located right across from The Presidential Palace and La Plaza Mayor in downtown Lima. It took more than 50 years to build this Cathedral. The experience here was very spiritual and breathtaking. It took a good 2 to 3 hours to cover this spiritual center. The feeling that I experienced, while I was there, was of peacefulness, tranquility and love. Moreover, I felt like heaven on earth 🌎. Thank you to God and all the people involved in this tour for recommding this site, it is full of history. Tomorrow we are touring the underground catacombs of this church where the Cardinals and Orsobispos were buried on underground catacombs. I want to thanks our body guard for explaining every part of this spiritual tour. Also, we want to thanks GOD for giving us a great to learn more about the foundation of the CATHOLIC CHURCH in LIMA, PERU 🇵🇪🙏. Amen....
