Villa Chicken — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

In 2019 I visited here for the first time and it was amazing, fantastic food and staff. I'm finally back in Peru and I came to see how and if anything had changed since the pandemic, we sat at the very same table we had years before and the food was as outstanding as we remember. The salad was a touch smaller but still as fresh as I recall, the chips were fluffy and light with the perfect crisp coating and the chicken mouthwatering with every bite. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I had chicken hearts served with French Fries and “cold vegetable salad”. The chicken hearts were so full of tendons and grizzle that I could not eat them, fries were OK but not crispy just a bit limp, the vegetables are served cold and are a bit odd; cubed carrots, stringbeans, beets and some avocado. There is no menu in English despite the restaurant’s name. Service was fine. The atmosphere is super! It’s like dining in someone’s house. I was totally disappointed by my food. Cheap, tasty, chain of chicken restaurants. This particular one was a very beautiful antique building. Everything was very clean. We had half a chicken with chips and salad on the side, and then another side of mollejas. We drank beer and fresh lemonade and finished with a sweet desert.
