Luz del Titicaca Lodge

We were very touched by the host Joel who went out of the way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. You will be provided with everything you would need - boat transfer, tea bags and coca tea leaves, hot water, as well as dinner meals, local tour of Uros island oxygen tank upon request for a reasonable additional charge. The host also helped arrange transfer from Juliaca airport and to Punu station for an early morning train. I was concerned about having to figure out some of these myself but the host took care of everything for us through prompt communication before and during our stay.

The room is very tastefully furnished with local ethnic accents and is spacious for a whole family. You will get big, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, USB charging and floor-to-ceiling glass walls for an unobstructed view of the surrounding lake.

Views from the lodge were otherworldly and you get to experience the lake's beauty that changes with time of the day as a privilege of staying on the floating lodge as opposed to taking a day trip.

Nothing to do with the lodge itself but night on the lake can get quite cold (we visited late september). The host provides very thick blankets, hot water bottles, and gas heater but bring warm...

If I can give 10 stars, I would. Luz Del Titicaca Lodge was absolutely beautiful. Although our stay was short, the owner Joel went out of his way to make our stay unforgettable. From the booking process, to organising a bus transfer to making sure we were comfortable, well fed and happy. Joel even arranged a tour with the local villages for us. So very grateful to be able to stay at such a beautiful place and can not recommend the service enough! Just had 2 unique nights floating on Lake Titicaca! My family of four stayed in an amazing family room (2 double beds) on Joel and his family's island. If you want to be off grid in pure relaxation this is the ideal place. Sunrises and sunsets are the best I have ever seen. Joel picks you up from a small dock in Puno and drops you back again when its time to leave.
