The Mactan Newtown — Attraction in Lapu-Lapu

Looks like a nice place but only a fool would believe that this will be the next IT park or Cebu Business Park. Place is mostly deserted and it is away from most of the population centers in Cebu. The call centers that have set-up shop here are struggling to get employees since most of the workers are located in Cebu Island and most don't want to go to Mactan because the traffic is horrible all year round. If you do find someone who speaks decent English you have a lot of competition since a lot of ESL Centers and hotels have set-up shop in this area. The call centers that have set-up shop here have been offering premium pay, have had to resort to paying people just to turn-up for interviews, and to bussing their employees(surprise most of them aren't in Mactan but are in Cebu island) since the location is just bad. If you are looking for somewhere to set-up shop for your call center don't bother...

I want to share my worst experience in one of the condos in this place.i and my husband decided to stay in that condo for a few months because someone recommend us this place.Its a good place to stay with a relaxing environment but what I don't like is the agent we talk had this kind of bad attitude.At first before the signing of contract they show us good attitude like so good to be true but when I tell her that we need to have an emergency she just ignore us.it takes 2 days to reply.and one more thing guys . Before you sign the contract specially for foreign people who want to stay it this place read properly the contract and check if all content in contract is ok because there is a possibility that they will trick you.like us they don't give us a copy of contract and when we move to another place it's the time they say there is a mistake in...

This is a weird place. More a business center than a mall, but they have a lot of shops, and even a club, on the ground floor, facing outwards, like a strip mall. Yet there is no parking anywhere around, so they seem to cater to the business people. Two coffee shops, eateries, sushi restaurant, McDonalds, even a night club. The night club is pretty good, btw.

oh - there is a 7-eleven there that seems to be the happening place for locals to hang out in the evening. Seems odd to me that this would be the hip place, but they even have several tables out front that were all filled up with people...
