Sto. Niño De Cebu-Mactan Parish — Attraction in Lapu-Lapu

English Sunday mass is @ 10 AM. This catholic church is architecturally beautiful with some nostalgic touch. Icons of saints were enclosed inside a glass cabinets. The confessional box was also vintage. The church is not airconditioned but it has an open airflow design. Now the bad part. It’s not the church but the officiating priest on Pentecost Sunday June 9. The priest asked (literally forcing) foreigners and non locals to stand up and be recognized. He asked the congregation to give then a round of applause. I don’t know why he did this but if I were the priest this is what I think and believe should have been done. The priest should have welcomed them and gave them blessings in the the name if the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for safe travels and good weather. In fact the priest need not asked them to stand up and be embarrassed. He should have assumed that there are non locals because , guess what, this is a tourist area. Now the worst of all things.
