Doljo Beach is a little farther from the main Panglao hub - the Alona Beach. But that can be a pros or a con depending on what kind of beach vibe you're after. If you like the quiet and relaxing type, then Doljo is a better option, but if you want to be where the "action" happens and the crowd stays, then Doljo Beach is not for you.
Pros: Quite and serene white sand beach where you can relax under and just be with nature. The white sand beach is clean and seriously maintained better compared to Alona Beach or even the good-looking Dumaluan beach. There are several high-end hotel resorts like Modala Beach Resort and Bellevue Resort, which all have beach front access of Doljo Beach. There is a strip mall called Moadto beside Modala (also owned by Modala) where you can explore some souvenir shops and eat in restaurants like Buzz Cafe by Bohol Bee Farm, Giligans, Onami among others. Beach access is FREE. You can just go through Moadto Strip Mall and go to the beach front. You can lay some picnic towel and swim.
Cons: The water level, even at high tide, is still shallow. Maybe two feet or three feet at most. And you have to walk maybe 50 meters to get a deep enough spot to pseudo swim, haha. Far from Alona Beach. Even the tuktuk ride from the airport needed to add extra fees just because it is farther down the Pangalao Island. Like everything else in Panglao, it is also expensive from the tuktuk rides to the restaurant foods. There might be limited rides if late at night.
Tips: I heard there are some acoustic shows and fire dance along Moadto Strip mall during the weekend. If your budget is tight, there is a 7-11 convenience store in Moadto Strip mall where you can get better priced food and drinks.

Read moreDoljo beach is quiet, no waves and fine White sand. The beach is cleaned by the employees of Moadto Strip mall and the resort next to it. On the big rock on the left, there is a little bit of garbages. People needs to be disciplined to take garbages away with them to keep the beach beautiful as it is now. On the 1st 15m, the sea is shallow (about 30cm deep) with the white sand as seabed. Further than that, the sea is still shallow but the sea bed is covered by algies where few little fishes, a lot of starfishes (orange/red with black dots), and a lot of urchins. About 30m Further distance, there are some natural pools of 5m to 15m deep where a lot of corals and beautiful color fishes are found. That explains why there are several boats in that area for snorkeling and diving tours. Ensure that those boats can see you when you move around...
Read moreThe beach is no longer a beach but a collection of trash and rubbish. The trash is being washed ashore from the open water, it is not being put there by the local people or the local businesses.
You used to be able to drive to the end of the road and park. You could walk out to the point and get a beautiful view of Cebu, Negros, and Siquior. You no longer can do that because the property has been bought by a Filipino/Chinese and has added security gates.
I decided to drive back and park at the church and walked out to the beach and then tried to walk out to the point, but was also stop by a security guard.
I'm sure there are plans in the future for them to build a big resort hotel out there and ruin another place for the...
