This park is in dire need of renovation. The fountain structure is sad-looking and is falling apart. It could be renovated into a larger stage where the park can earn money by holding live music, art galleries, film festivals, and etc. The grass area needs to be trimmed and changed to an area where people can sit and have picnics or watch the aforementioned entertainment.
While I was here this afternoon, around 2pm, I saw a man run from Emerald to pee behind the fountain. This was all witnessed by the park's security guard, who did nothing to stop it. Read moreThis small park in the middle of Ortigas Center is a good place to slow down from all the hustle and bustle of the surrounding cityscape. There are some resident stray cats who use the park as their place to rest as well, so you're in for a treat. Decent tree cover, although I wouldn't recommend staying there during noontime since it still gets plentiful of scorching sunlight.
The park needs some cleaning and maintenance. What seems to be a wall fountain is no longer functional. You might be able to smell the scent of the sewer below, depending on which park bench you would sit on. Read moreI passed this corner of Ortigas by accident coming from Strata 2000 going to Megamall. I ended up at Robinson's Galleria, but the detour was worth it.
The mural showing the founders of Ortigas and the owners of Hacienda Mandaluyong and Greenhills was a very interesting piece of urban history.
I hope that more if not all cities, centers, and towns would have this sort of bird's eye view of the place's history, milestones, landmarks, and originators, founders, and/or owners.
