We frequently visited the old Podium Mall during our 3 long vacation periods (Christmas or after New Years Season) in The Malayan Plaza Hotel from 2013 to 2015. There were a number of very good restaurants we had lunch or dinner, like the Spanish Restaurant near the main entrance & the Chinese Restaurant on the ground floor 2013. Both restaurant closed down later part of 2014. During the years 2014 & 2015, we also visited a few times Terry's Restaurant for Spanish Cuisine & Delicatess Shop in the Basement as well as the Wagyu Stone Grill on the 5th floor. We had numerous coffee breaks or late lunches at The Wildflower & other cafés in the Podium. The small Crepes Coffee shop to the left of the Main Entrance was phenomenal like "La Pinay Crepe" - with mango filling, vanilla ice cream & melted dark chocolate. We had also had a wide variety of "take away" lunches or supper from different cuisine - Filipino - Cafe Bonifacio, Japanese like Kimono Ken, Cantonese, Taiwanese like Shi Lin, Korean, American & Italian. We missed intentionally the Buffe dinner at the Yakimix Cuisine due to the huge amount of food being served. I had a couple of Barong Tagalog & several trousers made from a Mens Wear Shop at the Basement Floor. The only thing lacking in Podium is a good Supermarket. Otherwise in place is very good. Read moreOne of my favorite malls on the metro!
Located in the heart of Ortigas Center on ADB Avenue, this chic, high-end mall - The Podium is home to different luxury brands with an excellent aesthetic and ambiance - inside and out.
It is also located nearby other malls in the area, like the famous SM Megamall, Robinsons Galleria, St. Francis Square and Shangrila Mall.
Indeed, a breath of fresh air, unlike any other malls in the city - this mall is not crowded and private, with a variety of offerings - from food to fashion, health and wellness to leisure and entertainment - no wonder it has a lot of good and excellent reviews among others.
This mall is somehow close to my heart since I had my on-the-job training (OJT) in one of the fine dining restaurants here back in the day. But ever since, it had its major renovation, it is something the crowd and mall-goers have to rediscover as it evolves as one of the best malls in the country.
I’ve visited some shops here and dined at their so-called “Corner Market” - a sort of food court in other malls where there are very good food choices that can fill up your tummy.
This is my go-to-mall when I am in the vicinity and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00...
