Wow wow wow Sabang beach 🏝️
We have just returned to the UK following our 6 night stay. We visited the beach everyday and were very often the only people there less the locals walking to and from their boats.
The beach was clean, the water clear and so warm, like stepping into a warm bath!
There are so many fish and shallow too, my recommendation is to bring a snorkel 🤿 or snorkel mask with you so you don’t miss out.
At the far right of the beach (furthest away from the harbour) you will find the corals and rock pools which are a fish haven. We were. So lucky to see so many varieties of fish and literally ankle deep, so perfect for little people to enjoy too.
Swimming felt safe as it was calm, but the resorts do put flags out so do check them out for warnings.
Do bring: bug spray as there’s reports of sand fleas although we never experienced any bites 🦟 sunscreen 🧴 snorkelling equipment 🤿 towels if you aren’t staying at a resort locally bottled drinking water 🚰 water shoes if exploring the rocks as they are sharp, we did ok wearing...
Read moreTourist impression. Terrible. It’s like they don’t like tourists here. We stopped at a tourist information booth shortly after arriving. 3 people all on their cell phones and don’t acknowledge us until we ask if they have a brochure. The one chubby guy is smoking, looking at his phone, looks up to tell us there is no information except tours to offer. He points up and down the strip and says, you walk there and you walk there.
Wow. I don’t even know what to say at this point.
There is no beach to swim at. Lots of vendors, restaurants and shops but utterly worthless stop otherwise.
They definitely want your money but don’t want to earn it. To glued to their phones and none sense. Unfortunately this is common every where here in my experience. Sad. So much wasted opportunities and people wasting...
Read moreSabang Beach, compared to other beaches in the Philippines, is relatively average. It lacks a reef, snorkeling, or diving opportunities in the area. The restaurants tend to be overpriced, and the food is passable at best. There are only two non-backpacker resorts available, both costing over 100 USD per night. Unless you're looking for a quiet retreat on a somewhat ordinary beach or staying overnight in transit, there isn't much reason to linger here. Most visitors may find themselves getting bored after spending more than a night. It might be better to head straight to El Nido for a more vibrant and...
