One of the busiest attraction in the city. This seaside complex host various dining establishments that offer local cuisine and the most refreshing and iconic desert in Zamboanga, the Knickerbocker (get the original from Palmeras which has the best location at the edge of the complex). The complex also feature a convention center, a children's playground, a skatepark and a dancing fountain (currently non-functioning). It's also the jumping point where you board the vessels that will take you to Sta. Cruz Island. Afternoons and evenings are the busiest and large crowds gather at dusk to view the magnificent sunset of Zamboanga. Fitness enthusiasts gather here in the morning for their zumba sessions and go around the park for a run or walk. If you wish to avoid the crowd, it's best to visit in the morning however you wont find any open establishments. Mornings are also the best time to catch some of the local wildlife with birds such as eagles and egrets flying by or hunting for food around the area. The park is showing its age as some of the benches are already worn out and lamp posts are no longer functioning. Despite the visible wear and tear, this seaside park is still very lively and popular for tourists and locals alike.
Zamboanga's version of Luneta park and roxas Boulevard. First thing that you will notice??? The air, sea and land area is clean. It is well kept and as if they are allergic to garbage which is what we in Manula should emulate. I mean, you will enjoy coming here (ehem, especially good for dating) because it is really peaceful and clean. From here you can see the outline of Basilan and you will get to glimpse the beach of Sta cruz. This place is known especially at night because of the different resto and live bands. Lots of family, couple and friends come here to relax, eat and jam. Some even fish here at night. Place is guarded by soldiers and guards and you need to show your ID to enter this area( Basically, all public place in Zamboanga City has checkpoint). There is a big parking lot beside the tourism office where you can reserve and book your pink beach and onse islas tour here.
Let's start with the seafood shacks located @ Valderosa St. near Fort Pilar Shrine 😊❤️ The variety and quality of seafood available were impressive. From succulent lobster and crab to flavorful oysters and shrimp, there was something to satisfy every seafood lover's palate. The shacks themselves had a rustic charm, providing a laid-back and casual atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating options, as it allowed me to savor my meal while enjoying the scenic views of the water and sunset.. 🥰 For me, best time to come around is @5PM so you can still enjoy roaming around while waiting for a sunset viewing 😊
This is a great place to relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the sea and the nearby islands. The sunset here is amazing. It is open early morning for people who want to jog, walk or exercise but it is most active in the afternoon. There are array of restaurants here and some offer live band music at night. Moreover, there is a dancing fountain in the vicinity. There are also sea gypsies on their boat catching people’s attention. Lastly, this is the jumping off point going to the famous pink sand beach, Sta Cruz Islands which is 10 to 15 minutes by boat.
Super pretty place! This place has really improved since the last time I was here pre-covid era. There is now a mini park complete with a playground for kids, with slides, swings, seesaws, monkey bars, etc. There's also an area for skaters. And then there's the bay walk area. The sunset view is absolutely beautiful. There are also a bunch of restaurants in the area serving all kinds of things, from grilled food to desserts like knickerbocker. The place definitely has something for everybody. The gyrating fountain no longer works though. 😅
I went here with my friends this past summer and since it was my first time to visit Zamboanga I got so amazed. It's a nice place to go for a late afternoon stroll and catch a glimpse of the sunset. Must see are the colorful dancing fountain show and live band performances. Must experience is dining in one of the many restaurants in the area to sample the local delicacy, the curacha with alavar sauce. Yummy! I can't wait to try it again on my next visit ❤ Paseo del Mar is only open to the public daily from 3pm until midnight
